Dt. 04.02.2008FromToShri Deoranjan Kumar Singh, I.A.S.State Project Director, OPEPA &Director, Elementary Education,Orissa, Bhubaneswar.All District Project Coordinators.SSA / DPEP Districts.Sub: Conduct <strong>of</strong> Common Annual Examination, 2008.Sir,In continuation <strong>of</strong> this Office letter No. 421/Ped/08 dt.14.1.2008, I am toenclose herewith <strong>the</strong> norm for printing <strong>of</strong> Question-cum-Answer Sheet which has beenprepared in consultation with <strong>the</strong> Directorate <strong>of</strong> TBP&M. The Question-cum-AnswerSheet alongwith <strong>the</strong> question papers duly modified in <strong>the</strong> light <strong>of</strong> teleconference heldon 2.2.2008 may be printed by following all formalities in accordance with <strong>the</strong> normfor printing referred to above through a Committee headed by <strong>the</strong> Collector-cum-Chairman, SSA / DPEP.The written examination may be conducted during 10 th -15 th March 2008. TheOral Examination may be conducted after 15 th <strong>of</strong> Mar’08 alongwith <strong>the</strong> valuation workwhich may be done in presence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> children. Once <strong>the</strong> marks are recorded, <strong>the</strong>children may be asked to re-write <strong>the</strong> revised and corrected answer and show it to <strong>the</strong>teachers for fur<strong>the</strong>r comments. The Oral Examination may be conducted individuallywith contextual questions on immediate local environment <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> children. Theexamination result may be shared with <strong>the</strong> PTA Class-wise and Subject-wise between25 th -31 st Mar’08. The new academic session should start w.e.f. 1.4.2008. The results<strong>of</strong> Common Annual Examination may be tracked subject-wise and class-wise in respect<strong>of</strong> Gender and socially category through <strong>the</strong> quarterly monitoring format to be suppliedto all schools. The cost <strong>of</strong> expenditure incurred for printing <strong>of</strong> Question-cum-AnswerSheet, quarterly monitoring format and progress card may be booked under REMS.The filled in format should reach Cluster level by 15 th April’08 forconsolidation. The consolidated filled in format at <strong>the</strong> CRC level should reach <strong>the</strong> BRClevel by 18 th April’08 for consolidation. The consolidated filled in format at <strong>the</strong> BRClevel should reach <strong>the</strong> DPO level by 25 th April’08 for consolidation. The consolidatedfilled in format at <strong>the</strong> DPO level should reach <strong>the</strong> SPO by 15 th May’08 forconsolidation and on onward transmission to Govt. <strong>of</strong> India.

NORMS FOR PRINTING OF QUESTION PAPERS1. Quality <strong>of</strong> Paper - 60 GSM (good quality Cream wove)2. Size <strong>of</strong> Question-cum-Answer sheets - Demi ¼3. Cost <strong>of</strong> paper per ream( 500 sheets-Demi size) - Rs. 375/-4. DTP copies <strong>of</strong> question papers to be supplied by <strong>the</strong> <strong><strong>of</strong>fice</strong>(As per OPEPA norms i.e. Rs. 20.00 per page)1. The printing cost should be inclusive <strong>of</strong> plate making cost. It <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong>printed questions is less than 50,000, <strong>the</strong>n one plate making charge @ Rs. 150/-per forma (i.e. 8 pages) will be allowed.6. Printing charges up to 1000 pages single side <strong>of</strong> ¼ Demi size is Rs. 6.50.7. 2% spoilage in paper is allowed(e.g. for printing 1000 Demi ¼ size question papers, 1000/8 =250 sheets <strong>of</strong>Demi size paper required spoilage (2% <strong>of</strong> 250). 5 sheets is allowed. So, total255 sheets are allowed to print 1000 pages <strong>of</strong> question paper)8. Folding, trimming and packing up to 1000 pages is Rs. 2.00.9. Transportation from press to <strong>the</strong> <strong><strong>of</strong>fice</strong> (or destination) will be charged as perlocal rate.10. In case <strong>of</strong> deviation from <strong>the</strong> norms, <strong>the</strong> districts should obtain prior permissionby giving sufficient justification for deviation.
