DedicationEverything in the universe has a foundation, a place where it begins. The foundation usually begins withan idea or a dream. For any who have ever made the trek to Pennsylvania the first weekend in February to attendthe PA State Convention, that foundation began because of Peg Hailey. In 1984, Peg became a member of theARBA as she and her family raised Checkered Giants, Dutch, Mini Lops, Standard Chinchillas, and NetherlandDwarfs. Very early on, she had a dream to have rabbits shown at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show, Pennsylvania’spremier agricultural event held annually in January. In order to have rabbits represented at the Farm Show,it was a requirement of the PA Farm Show Commission to have an organization that would promote rabbits as acommodity within the state of Pennsylvania. Peg and a small handful of individuals then started the PennsylvaniaState Rabbit Breeders Association (PaSRBA) where she served as its first secretary. She never dreamed thatthe PaSRBA would grow and flourish into the organization that it has become today with its renown conventionand large participation in both youth contests and youth Royalty, where the King and Queen represent the rabbitand cavy industry throughout the year and ultimately are the commodity representatives at the PA Farm Show.Peg received her rabbit judge’s license in 1995 followed by her cavy license in 1996. As mentioned earlier, shehas raised various breeds of rabbits, most notably Harlequins. She also raises various breeds of cavies, mainlyTeddies, Satin Teddies, and Cream Americans. Besides the PaSRBA, she has been heavily involved over the yearswith the Delaware Valley Rabbit Breeders, the Lehigh Valley Rabbit Breeders and the Mid-Atlantic Cavy BreedersAssociation. Peg has been an integral member of the Mid-Atlantic Rabbit and Cavy Shows’ board where sheserves as a director representing Pennsylvania. She is also the Cavy Superintendent for the 90th ARBA Conventionand Show.Anyone who knows Peg can testify that she has a deep passion for the youth as they are the future of thehobby. She has been a 4-H leader for over 13 years and has written a 4-H curriculum that is still used in variouscounties. Peg and her husband, Larry, for many years would take the trip to the Penn State Achievement Daysto run the rabbit and cavy skill-a-thon. She helped to start the Royalty program within Pennsylvania and haswatched several of past PA State Rabbit Kings and Queens to go on and receive their registrar’s license, judge’s license, and a few to even serve as officers and directors of the ARBA. She does whatever she can do to encouragethe youth and get them involved within the hobby.Peg is an incredibly humble person and is always there to lend a hand. As the remaining founder of thePaSRBA, she is satisfied to see the growth of the organization and its youth programs. She is also pleased to seethe growth of those individuals who have gone through PA’s Royalty programs. It is because of her foundation of the PaSRBA, her continued support and love for the youth in the region, andher love for the hobby that the 90th ARBA Convention and Show is dedicated to Peg. She is an icon for our hobbyand it is the wish of MARCS to honor her for her efforts. Thank you, Peg!

DedicationBorn one week after the 1946 ARBA National Convention to parents who raised and promoted rabbits,George Long has deep roots in the history of D-9. In 1943, his parents founded the Lehigh Valley Rabbit BreedersAssociation, the oldest chartered club in Pennsylvania, and George carries on the history as Lehigh’s currentPresident. Living with a rabbit-world family, George started raising rabbits as a young child and showed at hisfirst ARBA National Convention at the age of 8 with Champagne D’Argents. He has raised all but a handful ofbreeds and most noticeably: Silver Martens, Champagnes, Californians, New Zealands, Harlequins, StandardChinchillas, Netherland Dwarfs, Polish, English Spots, Jersey Woolies, and Mini Lops. In 1969 George crossedover into the cavy world where he has raised everything except White Crested. In 1974, George obtained his judges license as number 337. He is currently one of a handful of duellicensed judges in the ARBA. In 1976, the last time that Convention was in District 9, George judged his firstARBA Convention with Youth Cavies and was also in charge of the Open Cavies that year. Over the years,George has served the Fancy in many different capacities. In 1977 and 1978 he served as President for the EasternRabbit and Cavy Fanciers Association. He has also served as a Director for Baltimore and Howard RabbitBreeders Association and State Representative to the ARBA for Pennsylvania. For the past 30 years, George hashelped with the rabbit and poultry department for the Allentown Fair and has the head of the department for thelast 7 years. George has graciously sat and assisted with the founding of both the Berks County Rabbit Breedersand the Mid-Atlantic Cavy Breeders Association. When the Pennsylvania State Rabbit Breeders Associationbegan, George sat on the committee to the Pennsylvania State Farm Show to help bring rabbits as a commodityand show at Pennsylvania’s annual premier agricultural event. Since the inception of rabbits as a commodity atthe PA Farm Show, George has judged there each January. In recent years, George has helped with the PennsylvaniaState Rabbit Breeders Association as a club representative for Lehigh Valley to the board and as the cavysecretary for the PaSRBA Convention. George’s greatest honor has been the privilege of being asked to serve onthe Standards Committee.George is a humble man who is willing to do what he can when asked and given the opportunity. He is awealth of knowledge and history and is the go-to guy when information is needed. When asked recently what hefeels his legacy is to the hobby his response was simply, “I pray that I was a good judge and a good educator.” Heparticularly hopes that he has been this for the cavy world. Being anunassuming person, George will never fullgrasp the depth of his impact on our hobby. His quiet way and passion for both rabbits and cavies have encouragedyouth to go as far as they want and can in the hobby, including receiving their registrar’s and judge’s license. His love for the hobby, resourcefulness, wealth of knowledge, and respect among his peers made him an obviouschoice to serve as the 90th ARBA Convention’s Judge’s Liaison. It is also for these reasons that George is one ofour Dedicatees as a “Thank you!” for his impact to our hobby.

DedicationIf you look in the dictionary Rabbit Ambassador’s you will see a photo of Ray & Margie Brewer. They joined American Rabbit Breeders in 1980.Ray became a A.R.B.A. registrar in 1985 and worked to become an A.R.B.A. Judge in 1993.Ray & Margie have raised many breeds of rabbits over the years; Dutch, Florida Whites, Holland Lop, just toname a few. They have been a force in the rabbit world by introducing new breeders to A.R.B.A. and many SpecialtyClubs. They have supplied breeders from all over the nation with their first show and breeding stock. Theyare always willing and have never been too busy to share their knowledge about rabbit care and advice. Onesecret about them you may not know about is they have a very soft spot for youth breeders. They have providedstock to many youth at reduced prices and many times FREE! We are talking about animals that would place ina national. You will find them working at shows in many different areas: Show Secretary; Show Superintendent, Writers,Awards, Banquets, Picnics, etc. If it needs to be done they are there lending a helping hand. They both have heldmany positions in National Specialty Clubs and the A.R.B.A.Ray & Margie have been a responsible for starting many rabbit clubs and have held the privilege of holding manypositions in these clubs. One very large specialty club they were instrumental in starting was the Classy CountryHollanders. The club brought many states together with one common goal sharing the love of Holland Lopsthanks to Ray & Margie’s vision. The Brewers were instrumental in hosting first Holland National to the south inNorth Carolina in 2000 and they did it again in Georgia in 2006.Ray & Margie have placed many home grown rabbits in Breed Nationals and A.R.B.A. convention.Southern hospitably is another name for theBrewers. They introduced to all of us theSouthern way of showing rabbits. In Margie’s words: Slow down; pull up achair; sit awhile and chat. Enjoy the bunnies, your friends (new & old) and the show in thatorder! This is what shows are supposed to beall about.

DedicationFew breeders achieve the level of excellence as ARBA member Robert Crawford. His name immediatelyconjures an image of a master New Zealand breeder. Those who live in North Carolina know his rabbits by sightalone. It is a joy for out of state judges to get their hands on Bob’s stellar rabbits when they come to North Carolina.Robert started raising rabbits in 1973 and won his first prize two years later. As he relates to folks, "I wentto a rabbit show and something dawned on me that I could do it." Little did he know how well he would do! Hebegan raising New Zealand, Rex, Florida Whites and Californian's. His love of the New Zealand overruled andhe cut back to focusing on just that breed.Bob has an unfettered passion for the New Zealand breed and you need not look further than his accomplishmentsto see why. In the American Federation of New Zealand Breeders, his name is set firmly in the historybooks. Bob has won Best of Breed ten times and Best Opposite seven times at the New Zealand National Shows. He has won the sweepstakes program of his club six times. He was given the outstanding member award in2008, the leadership award in 1985, and inducted into the hall of fame in 2000. He was inducted in the OhioNew Zealand club in 2006. He is a lifetime member of the North Carolina Rabbit Breeders Association and wasgiven the distinguished service award in 1996.At the ARBA Convention, Bob also made his mark. He won Best of Breed four times and Best Oppositetwice. In 1994, he won the Best 6 Class award in Tulsa. In 2011, Bob achieved what every rabbit breeder dreamsof. He is etched in history as the winner of Best in Show at the 88th ARBA Convention in Indianapolis. In total,Bob has won Best of Breed or Best Opposite approximately 1,000 times and has won Best in Show an astounding350 times. Bob’s resume is second to none when it comes to raising outstanding rabbits!Bob’s dedication to the hobby, the breed, and the industry are all reasons why we dedicate the 90th ARBA Conventionto him. You are an inspiration to open and youth breeders who strive to better the breed and strengthenthe hobby.

Windows Software forRabbit and Cavy BreedersPrograms written by a company that has been producing rabbit and cavysoftware for 25 years. Easy to use. Designed specifically for the computernovice. Unlimited free technical support. Our rabbit and cavy softwareis more popular than an other. Don’t take our word for it — just askfellow breeders at the Convention what program they use and whatprogram they like. Then stop by our booth for a demonstration. If you already own our software, please stop by to say hi and see thetotally new version — we’ve rewritten it from the ground up!Rabbit Register for Windows – Deluxe EditionAll the features of the Standard Edition (see below), plus color genetics, chore scheduling and record-keeping for judges. The chore scheduling featurereminds you when to perform various chores in a breeding cycle. Itprints chore sheets on a daily basis or over any interval of your choosing.Marking a chore as done automatically updates your litter information. The Judge’s Notebook allows judges to record all judging information, including expenses, mileage, income and bid submissions.Rabbit Register for Windows – Standard EditionPrints pedigrees, show entries, cage cards, business cards, inventories, remark card labels, mailing lists, sales receipts & more. Many styles ofpedigree to choose from. Lets you put a logo or the animal’s photo righton the pedigree. Stores all data for each breed. For example, it keepsextensive wool records for the long-haired breeds, keeps track of markingsfor Checkered Giants, mane type for Lionheads, and much more.Stores and displays any number of generations of ancestors. Displayssiblings or descendants of an animal or a buck/doe pairing. It also keepstrack of your litters, winnings, finances and much, much more.Cavy Register for WindowsSimilar to the Rabbit Register—Standard Edition, but with features uniqueto cavies, such as the ability to track satin carriers.
