Approved ProgramsEffective July 1, 2012, eligible Veterans may pursue aprogram of training that:• Is approved for VA benefits;• Is pursued on a full-time basis;• Is offered by a community college or technicalschool;• Leads to an associate degree or certificate; and• Provides training for high-demand occupationsas defined by DoL• A list of occupations can be found online atwww.benefits.va.gov/VOW).VRAP v 1.0 (20120427)12
Change of programApproved Programs• Individuals eligible for VRAP will not be permitted to changetheir program once a payment has been issued.• Natural Progression is not allowed under VRAP.Reductions• Individuals who reduce their training below full-time will nolonger be eligible to receive assistance under VRAP.• Benefits will be terminated on the date of reduction.• The one-time 6-credit hour exclusion is not applied to VRAPNote: VA will re-establish benefits if an individual increaseshis/her training time back to full-time.VRAP v 1.0 (20120427)13
