I can’t imagine anythingnicer than stopping wherever youwant. There are so many placeswe’d love to visit including Bath,Cambridge, Northumberl<strong>and</strong>The new h<strong>and</strong>over systemcalled SBAR – which st<strong>and</strong>s forsituation, background, assessment<strong>and</strong> recommendation – is provinga popular way <strong>of</strong> working.SBAR is one <strong>of</strong> the innovationsunder the Safer Patients Initiativeto improve team communication.Our audits have shown thath<strong>and</strong>over time can be dramaticallyreduced by SBAR. For example ifyou have four staff in h<strong>and</strong>over,cutting h<strong>and</strong>over time by 10 minutesequals 40 minutes nursing time. Frank lives inHolmfirth <strong>and</strong> is married with twochildren, Emma <strong>and</strong> Laura, <strong>and</strong> hasa five-year-old gr<strong>and</strong>son Max. James passed awaypeacefully on October 26 followingan illness courageously borne.Helen Thomson, acting chiefexecutive, said: “James was adedicated consultant <strong>and</strong> a highlyrespected friend <strong>and</strong> colleague. Here’s a… R O U N DA staff competition called“Are you a Smartie” raised£39 for Children in Need.The Child <strong>and</strong> Adult Care supportservice team toured HRI with the jarasking people to guess how manychocolate beans were in there.Winner, personnel managerJudith Taylor had the nearestguess with 1290 <strong>and</strong> shared themwith colleagues <strong>and</strong> friends.
