Above all, the dielectric constantsand the PCB spacings to the base must be taken into account. The mechanical stability,although primarily the VSWR, is determined by the so-called "footprints".Please note when using footprints for SMD connectors:A wide variety of transmission line topologies and pcb-parameters like permittivity,substrate thickness and board-stack up are applied by customers. These parametershave a strong impact on the high frequency performance of the mounted connector.The standard footprint layouts are not optimised to fit all of the possible board configurationsregarding RF-performance. It represents a recommendation for optimumsolderability of the connectors. In order to guarantee optimum high frequency propertiesof the connectors, an RF-analysis of the connector to board transition is recommended.On request, Rosenberger will provide PCB layout recommendations.
