At any one time there are at least 600 active research projects underway atMelbourne Health, across all disciplines with multi-disciplinary collaboration fostered andencouraged.Major Accountabilities for this position that relate to the above strategic goal are:Active involvement in the coordination and participation in research and practice developmentactivities related to Antimicrobial StewardshipDevelop a strategy for pharmacy led interventionsPublication of results and conference presentations of data and achievementsBuild a sustainable organisationBuilding a sustainable organisation provides the foundation for Melbourne Health’s continued abilityto deliver on our vision and mission and encourages us to look to the future in our day to daybusiness.Major Accountabilities for this position that relate to the above strategic goal are:Monitor RMH antimicrobial consumption and cost by contribution to National AntimicrobialUtilisation Surveillance ProgramMonitor expenditure and volume of restricted antimicrobial classesCarefully monitor new therapies and new uses of old therapiesContribute to knowledge base maintenance of approvals and clinical guidelinesKnowledge & Experience required to fulfil this positionEssential: A pharmacist registered in Australia or eligible for registration in Australia An experienced clinical pharmacist with expertise in antimicrobial use Experience in the pharmaceutical management of infectious diseases Communication skills for liaison with departments and committees Education experience for health professionals especially active educational techniquesDesirable:Post graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy practice or equivalentOccupational Health & SafetyMelbourne Health endeavours to provide a working environment for its employees that is safe andwithout risk to health.
