120th Anniversary of theI hope to be staying at MarianCollege for six years. That isalmost an eighth of your lifetimegone, so you should make thosethe best six years in your life. AtMarian you feel sad, happy, mad,surprised and grateful. At theend of six years you should knowas much as the teacher. Withthat knowledge you will be ableto do anything you like and thatmakes you how you are and whatyou are. That is why I came toMarian College.Marian College, it’s not perfect but it’s agreat school, welcoming to all Catholicand non-Catholic and started by the BrigidineSisters from Ireland. They sacrificedtheir family and lives in Irelandjust to build the Brigidine Convent andthe Brigidine education, which means alot to my family and me, because generationsof my family came to and wentfrom the school and got a high education.I came to Marian to get a high educationand be successful in life and havea high-paying job. Marian College isa great choice for a high school whenstudents are finished primary school, sothey can go further. When I have childrenI will send them to Marian Collegeso they can get a good job and live ahealthy life.2008 was my first year at Marian Collegeand I had a rough start to the year.Marian gave me a second chance andinstead of telling me to leave the school,they gave me a second chance and putme in another class. I feel like I amon the right track to a good ‘rest of myyears’ at Marian College and hopefully Iwill get a good job. With Marian’s greatfacilities, I think I will. Education startssomewhere and Marian College is agreat place to start.Marian College is everything to me, everything Ihave ever dreamed of. Not once have I been bullied.I have always had help - whatever I havewished for has finally happened.Marian is the best school and it always will be. Nomatter how had the work is, I will always enjoy it.How much I love this school is how much I lovemy work.When I was bullied at primary school, the bullywas by friend from kindergarten. One time I wasbeing bullied and I asked him why and he told methat he was being forced to do it. If he didn’t,he would be bashed, so after that we were stillfriends.The only thing in this school that I am going tokeep is nothing more than friendship.Marian College is afaithful and a fabulousschool. This is a goodschool because there aregood teachers and greatfriends.The Brigidine Nuns haveproduced a school thatis well educated and wewelcome so many peopleto this school.When I first came to thisschool I was welcomedby so many people. Iwas not afraid to gooutside and just playwith my friends. I wasnot afraid of anyone atall. This is just a greatschool.The teachers are reallygood here. The campshere are really goodas well. This year thecamp that I went on wasso good. This school isjust great.
Brigidine Sisters 1888 - 2008On my first day at Ararat’sMarian College, I was so nervousand scared that I wouldn’tmake any friends. But, as soonas I met some people, I instantlyfelt accepted.I love how this school acceptsall types of people. After reading“In my Words” in the newsletter,I noticed how this schoolhas changed people’s lives andmade them better citizens.I also love how the people ofArarat’s Marian College raiseawareness from situations thatthe world is struggling with,such as Indigenous People’srights, breast cancer, the environment,global warming andso much more.All the teachers are friendlyand caring towards all thestudents and they take time tohelp us all. Even though I amonly in Year Seven, and haven’tbeen here for very long, Iknow I am turning into a betterperson and I have made lotsof great friends that I will stayfriends with forever.I love this school and I willdefinitely stay until I finish YearTwelve. The Brigidine Sistersmade a great choice of openingtheir school. I can speakfor myself, and a lot of otherpeople when I say that Ararat’sMarian College is a fantasticOur school, Marian College, is a great school. It welcomespeople from all races, religions and people thathave special needs.Marian College was founded by a group of Irish Nunscalled the Brigidine Nuns. When Marian first openedthere were only seven students. Today there are over450 students and we are still growing.Over the years, Marian College has produced somehigh VCE results and I believe it offers a great education.In our class, everyone is included and very little bullyingis going on. There is zero tolerance for bullyingand it is dealt with in a fair way. They are sent to thecoordinator’s office.That’s why I would like to say thanks to the Brigidinesfor making this great school.Marian College meanseverything to me. Thereare always great timeshere. We have to thankthe Brigidine Sisters formaking this school whatit is today. The educationhere is honest.Marian College welcomesall people especiallythe most vulnerable.Every personis treated equally asif they were just oneunique person. Thisschool accepts anyone,even if they aren’t Catholic.The teachers/staffhere treat every childthe same. They are alsoreally nice.Also when you start atthis school they makeyou feel like you belongand are a part of ourschool.Every teacher and studenthere at MarianCollege is proud of whatthe Brigidines have donefor this school in the last120 years. So, thankyou,Brigidines, for allyou have done for thisschool. We are all proudto be a part of MarianCollege.‘That’s why I would like to say thanks to theBrigidines for making this great school.’
