Wojta!”Wojta is a two year starter on the varsity football teamand started last year on the varsity basketball squad.Wojta has had many great moments in his sports career,but what stands out the most was winning the <strong>City</strong>Championship this year for football, a feat that had not beenaccomplished since the 2001 season.Wojta has played football all 4 years, playing varsity juniorand senior years. He was also moved up to varsity midwaythrough his sophomore campaign. He earned All-<strong>City</strong>honors as a wide receiver his junior and senior seasons. Toadd to the trophy case he earned All-Conference honors as atight end both his junior and senior seasons. Wojta collectedsome additional hardware being awarded first team All-Areahonors in the Capital Times.He also has played basketball all four years, a two yearvarsity player, and earned Honorable Mention All-Area inthe Wisconsin State Journal. Wojta played baseball his freshmenseason and has plans to run track this spring.The court and field aren’t the only places Wojta gets itdone- he maintains a 3.6 GPA. He looks up to his brother,Eric and his father, Todd. His three main targets for collegeare UW-<strong>Madison</strong>, Winona State (MN) and AugustanaCollege (SD). He has been offered a partial scholarship toplay football at Augustana, but the details are yet to be specified.Wojta says if he goes to UW-<strong>Madison</strong> he will try andwalk-on for the football team. He’s been a greatleader and helped others around him improve,” basketballcoach Reggie Williams said.Wojta said that he looks up to the hard work and determinationof the Flowers brothers and Quincy Henderson. Asfor the season outlook Wojta said, “Play as hard as we canand whatever happens, happens.”“Hard work pays off,” added Wojta. It’s obvious that hehas set high standards for himself on and off the field.Kailynn Mitchell has been a two sport athlete at LaFollette since her freshmen year.Mitchell, a three year member of the varsity tennis team ,has also played basketball on the varsity team the past twoseasons. She really looks up to former teammate LaurenBrown for her ability on the basketball court and her greatsportsmanship. She also looks up to her father, Paul.Mitchell’s head flooded with sports memories, but onestood out over others. As a sophomore basketball player shescored over thirty points against Stoughton. She said theteam played its best game of the season.Aside from being an excellent athlete she gets it done inschool. Mitchell stands out in the classroom with a 3.65GPA, a member of National Honor Society. She also belongsto Student Council, Student Senate and Key Club.She is looking at UW-<strong>Madison</strong>, UW-La Crosse andUW-Eau Claire to study physicaltherapy. However, she isundecided about whether ornot she’ll be playing sports.“Kailynn is the type ofplayer that you can count onfor her best effort day in, andday out.
