Vent-Scrub® Vapor Phase AdsorbersModels VSC-200, VSC- 400, VSC-1000 and VSC-2000Data SheetApplicationsThe Vent-Scrub® adsorbers have been proven to be the simplestand most cost effective way to treat malodorous and VOC emissionproblems. Sturdy steel construction and specially formulated corrosionresistant internal coating ensures long service life andlow maintenance. Applications for Vent-Scrub® adsorbers include:J API separator ventsJ VOC control from soil vapor extraction (SVE)systems and airstrippersJ Wastewater and product storage tank ventsJ Process ventsJ Refinery and chemical plant wastewater sewer ventsJ Laboratory hood exhaustsInstallation, Startup and OperationSiemens can provide a total service package that includes utilizingOSHA trained personnel providing on-site carbon changeouts, packaging and transportation of spent carbon for recycling at ourreactivation facilities, where the contaminants are thermallydestroyed. We provide instructions on sampling the spent carbon andcompletion of our spent carbon profile form. Spent carbonacceptance testing can be performed at our certified laboratory. When requested, a certificate of reactivation will be issued.Benefits and Design FeaturesJ Durable, carbon steel constructionJ Abrasion and corrosion resistant baked epoxy lining;urethane exterior finish ((Vent-Scrub® 1000 and 2000)J Ready-to-use systems: simple installation andoperationJ Applications to 500 SCFMJ The Vent-Scrub® 1000 and 2000adsorbers have forklift channels for easy handlingJ Adsorber vessels are UN/DOT approved transportationcontainers for RCRA hazardous spent carbonJ Hose kit and pipe manifold options are available tosimplify installation and operationPiping Manifold (Optional)J 2" or 3" sch 80 PVC piping and valves (optional carbonsteel and stainless steel piping)J Series or parallel operationJ Sampling ports and pressure gaugesJ Flexible hoses with Kamlock fittings allow easyinstallation and removal during service exchangeoperationsWater Services

Actual volume will vary withproduct density.WarningThe adsorption of organic compounds ontoactivated carbon generates heat. In rare instances, adsorbed compounds may also react on the carbonsurface to generate additional heat. If these heatsources are not properly dissipated, the carbon bedtemperature may rise to the point where thecarbon can ignite, leading to a fire or otherhazardous condition. A description of industryaccepted engineering practices to assure thedissipation of heat and safe operation of the carbonbed can be provided upon request. In certainapplications where the risk of ignition is significant, activated carbon may not be a recommendedtreatment technology. Please contact yourTechnical Sales Representative for moredetails. Wet activated carbon readily adsorbsatmospheric oxygen. Dangerously low oxygenlevels may exist in closed vessels or poorlyventilated storage areas. Workers should follow allapplicable state and federal safety guidelines forentering oxygen depleted areas. All information presented herein is believed reliableand in accordance with accepted engineeringpractices. Siemens makes no warranties as to thecompleteness of this information.
