From the Editor:Dario Gonzalez, MD, FACEP, was named Medical Director (Acting) for the FDNY/Emergency Medical ServiceCommand and the Office of Medical Affairs. Dr. Gonzalez will continue to serve as the Division Two medicaldirector.The EMT and Paramedic competition was held on May 17 th in the Metrotech Commons in front of FDNYHeadquarters. Seventeen teams participated - nine ALS and eight BLS – in this year’s event. The competitionchallenged the didactic and psychomotor skill set of each team while also testing their ability to handle multiplelife saving tasks. Although this year’s turnout was the largest ever we hope that each station will enroll a teamin next year’s competition. Below are the final scores and standings from each division/station.
