The emphasis is on how to learn, how to develop creativethinking and the ability to work independently.At Brookhouse we believe that all children bring a range ofdifferent interests and skills. They are constantly encounteringnew experiences and developing confidence. We support eachchild's growth and development by building on what they alreadyknow, using a variety of teaching strategies.In pre-IGCSE Year 9 pupils study a wide range of subjects,allowing each individual to determine areas of particular interestand strength. The two year IGCSE programme follows, in whichcore subject areas, such as English and Mathematics, arecomplimented by a range of elective choices. The final two yearsof A-level study complete the secondary education process, whenstudents specialise in three main subjects of their choice.A Round Square SchoolExtra-Curricular ActivitiesAs part of our commitment as a Round Square school, atBrookhouse we offer a wide range of extra-curricularactivities. These are incorporated into the schooltimetable and open to all age groups.We hope that they will develop a pupil’s individualinterests and talents as well as leading them towardswider ones.
