Organisation and delivery of technical and physical training. Providing daily coaching andsupport for the rowers identified.For the ’Excel’ athletes, developing a sustainable coaching structure via the developmentand education of their club coaches. Running regional training days and, whereappropriate, the formation and running of regional crews.Liaising with the relevant host clubs for the use of facilities and equipment. Keeping theminformed about the rowers progress.Liaising with relevant rowing bodies such as clubs so that rowers can be included in groupactivities.Monitoring progress of the identified rowers and liaising with the Start Manager and TeamLeader for the evaluation of this information.Being part of a network of coaches covering the UK. Working with these coaches to deliverthe Start Programme and Coaching in Clubs Programme.Assisting with the running of testing days/camps for the Start Programme.Attend national trials, assessments and training camps as required.If required work within the <strong>GB</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> Team High Performance Programme.General ResponsibilitiesThese include:Supporting publicly the National Lottery, <strong>GB</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> Team’s sponsors and suppliers,including the Start Programme’s sponsor Siemens. Wearing <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> / <strong>GB</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong>Team clothing as appropriate. The post-holder may not be associated with anotherorganisation or sponsor in the course of their work with <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> without theInternational Manager’s written agreement.Following <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong>’s Policies and Procedures, ensuring that these are consistentlyapplied by staff and rowers for whom the post-holder is responsible. Special attention mustbe given to <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong>’s Policies on safety and anti-doping.Representing <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> / <strong>GB</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> Team as necessary at external events includingNational Coaching Conferences, presenting a positive image of <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong>, its’committees, volunteers and staff.Such duties as may be reasonably required to ensure the overall objectives of the <strong>GB</strong><strong>Rowing</strong> Team Start Programme and the <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong> Coaching in Clubs Programme aremet.Contribute, where appropriate, to coach education within <strong>British</strong> <strong>Rowing</strong>.Criteria for SuccessThe successful recruitment of sufficient rowers of the required standard.All selected rowers to make regular significant progress towards senior internationalperformance standard.3 female rowers to meet the standard for attending Autumn 2012 trials. 1 athlete to be invited to Spring Assessments 2013.
