2b) Tourism <strong>Marketing</strong>With the operations manager the post holder will identify opportunities fortourism partnerships and develop relationships with them, priority destinationmarketing organisations (DMOs), and/or heritage partners to raise the profile ofthe CCT and share industry practice. S/he will:Co-ordinate participation in VisitEngland visitor quality standards and advisethe operations manager on actions needed to meet those standardsMonitor regional trends in visitor numbers to provide a benchmark with othertourism attractions to enable effective planningWith the national income generation team, organise training for churchstewards, maintaining Trust quality and standards in all outward facing workProvide support and information for local groups and volunteers on tourismmattersc) Income GenerationThe post holder will be a regional focal point for implementing national incomegeneration strategies and will support the regional team and volunteers inrecruiting members to CCT’s Supporters scheme. Working closely with thenational income generation team, s/he will:Promote and provide information on the Trust’s Supporters scheme andmonitor the region’s performance in this areaCo-ordinate the region’s annual fundraising and marketing events calendarCo-ordinate and manage the promotion of CCT churches as venues for eventsto third-party hirers, including film location companiesCo-ordinate regional roll out of national merchandise, monitoring income andtake up of different materialsImplement national strategies to develop corporate sponsorship andcorporate volunteering in the regionContribute to the development of national projects, participating in workinggroups led by the national income generation teamAdditional InformationHealth and SafetyEmployees must be aware of the responsibilities placed on them under the Health andSafety at Work Act (1974), and to ensure that agreed safety procedures are carried outto maintain a safe environment for employees, patients and visitors. 3Person SpecificationRequirement E DQualifications and Training1. Relevant qualification in marketing or equivalent or willingness toobtainXExperience2. At least two years’ experience in heritage, tourism or a relatedmarketing environmentX3. Experience within a heritage or visitor attraction sector X4. Experience of developing partnership projects XKnowledge, Skills & Abilities5. Ability to assimilate information to provide customer focusedinformationX6. Effective project management skills X7. Knowledge of the heritage and/or tourism industry X8. The ability to manage a heavy workload, capable of working in asmall team with flexibility to shift workloads and projectsX9. Good IT skills and the ability to be self-sufficient in terms ofadministrationXPersonal Qualities10. Strong written and oral communication skills; able to presentinformation in an effective way to different audiencesX11. An interest in CCT’s work X<strong>Job</strong> RequirementsA willingness to travel, using public transport as far as possible.Attendance at regional staff meetings and some full staff meetings in otherparts of the UK<strong>Key</strong> Working RelationshipsWorking to the line manager, the post holder will also have regularcontact with the operations manage and national income generation team.The post holder will take an active part in the Trust’s audiencedevelopment forum.
