Baby,<br />
I’ve had the blues ever since you left me,<br />
like the color,<br />
or the sway of the ocean.<br />
I hear Jazz tunes<br />
appear from the water<br />
and into my heart.<br />
I feel like somebody,<br />
almost like Bessie Smith.<br />
I start dancing<br />
and singing<br />
to what’s in my heart.<br />
I feel free<br />
like a bird.<br />
I’m guessing<br />
that’s how they felt<br />
when they created Jazz.<br />
I hear the music in my heart<br />
coming out of my<br />
mouth.<br />
I feel happy<br />
energetic<br />
and a little crazy.<br />
I feel<br />
like I’m an artist<br />
like a known person.<br />
Like the Queen of Jazz.<br />
