It isalso time to salute our new Chief of the SA NationalDefence Force - General Solly Shoke. He is not only thenew leader, but also the father of our military family.He is also blessed with four children of his own.General Shoke knows what it means to be a father andwhat it entails. We as SANDF members can rest assured thatour new military father and Chief will take charge and provide uswith the necessary guidance and direction.These sentiments were echoed by General Godfrey Ngwenya, theoutgoing Chief of the SANDF, in welcoming his successor at theChief of the SANDF Change of Command Parade. GeneralNgwenya in his final message to General Shoke said that leadershipand command were the single most important elements inany defence force. He said that leadership was about trust: trustin the leader's competence, character and vision and trust in theleader's respect and care for those in his charge, which inspiredthe voluntary spirit.
