Apprentices work towards their qualifications during the normal course of their jobs, whilstour Assessors will provide regular workplace visits to monitor and assess portfolio progress.Workplace visits can be structured to suit the individual’s line manager or departmental patterns ofwork. WBL is a flexible and practical mode of delivery. Our Apprenticeship programmes operate as roll-on/roll-off programmes (starting at any time of theyear), including Key Skills and Technical Certificate tests, and are delivered in the workplace. We canbe flexible with speed of delivery; for example, if a learner wishes to be fast-tracked we can increasethe number of Assessor visits each month. Our qualifications are delivered with eTrack, which is a system of e-assessment using a secure onlineportfolio into which the learner and assessor can upload a wide range of multimedia evidencesubmissions quickly and easily. All of our assessors use digital voice recorders to record face-to-facemeetings, observations and reflective accounts. Regular contact can also be kept through an e-mailfunction on the eTrack website. JHP recognises that not all learners have computer or internet accessand work can be paper-based to suit their needs. It is also a more supportive method of delivery forlearners with additional learning needs such as dyslexia. Managers/line managers within theemployer can be issued with an eTrack login so they can monitor the progression of their staff, as wellas seeing how often the Assessors visit and what is achieved at each visit. eTrack is a popular choicewith employers, and eTrack learners tend to complete their qualifications quickly and have highachievement rates. All our Assessors have worked within their respective industries (and in the vast majority of cases asManagers within that industry), which means that they excel in knowledge and experience. Please list resources required from NHS South CentralApprenticeships are either fully funded or subsidised by the Learning & Skills Council. As we hold aWBL contract with the LSC, JHP Training are able to covers the costs for registration and there is noadministration fee. There will inevitably be “in-kind” costs to be considered by NHS South Central as it is imperative that(i) the learner be allowed to spend a reasonable designated amount of time working towards theirqualification, and (ii) the learner’s line manager take into account of the time needed for supportand guidance as well as contribution to the learners qualifications by way of witness testimonies andprofessional discussions.

Give details of evaluation plansAll of our Apprenticeship programmes are evaluated throughout the programme. The Assessor visits the Apprentice monthly, as a minimum, and will engage with the Apprentice’sManager/Supervisor at each visit to keep them informed of the Apprentice’s progress and anyissues. Initial and ongoingliaison with the Employer/Manager, including active participation in the review process, is integral tothis.Any additional evaluation processes required by NHS South Central can also be discussed andimplemented.
