Antenna Masts and StreetPoles<strong>CU</strong> <strong>Phosco</strong> has been working with mobile phone operatorssince the birth of the mobile telecommunication industryand in that time have built up a wealth of experience andknowledge in the design, manufacture and on time deliveryof antenna masts and antenna mast packages.Design calculations and checks must be undertakento ensure the integrity of the mast structure and that theantennas are operational within the specified limits of theirmanufacturers and the mobile phone operators. The designteam can advise on the most efficient method of upgrade ofexisting sites based on their knowledge and the company’sflexible manufacturing capability.The majority of our antenna products are manufactured fromsteel and are hot dip galvanised and we are able to providepainted where specified. The products portfolio outlinedgives a brief description of some of the types of masts andpoles we have developed for our customers over the years.MonopolesA monopole is a multi sided column used as an alternative tolattice towers in heights normally ranging from 12m to 30m.A monople usually has the ability to support 6, 9 or 12 offantennas as well as a number of microwave dishes. They arenormally fitted with steps of some type and an anti-climb facilitytogether with a certified fall arrest system. Monopoles areusually mounted in rural or industrial areas where their size isnot significant and a large number of antennas can be fitted.StreetPolesThis type of structure is a slimline design usually situated in astreet-side location, either pavement or grass verge, in heightsranging from 8 to 20m. Designs can incorporate Dual-Stackand Single-Stack methods, to maintain an optimum shroud sizewhile providing service for more than one operator. Dual-Stackis where there are two arrays of antenna stacked at differentheights. Single Stack means that all antennas are located at thesame height.Road Lighting PolesRoad lighting poles are, as the name implies, road lightingcolumns with antennas fitted. <strong>CU</strong> <strong>Phosco</strong> can manufacturethese to our customers’ requirements.A special type of road lighting column is the high mast, up to30 metres high, which can be fitted with multiple antennas atgreater heights than normal road lighting columns.1


Roof and Wall Mounted PolesStructures of various heights can be fixed to buildings.Bespoke SolutionsOur wide range of production capabilities enables us toproduce bespoke one-off products designed by architectsand sculptors which in some instances can incorporateantennas.2
