Trash bins may also be rented from Rainbow DisposalCompany. The following holidays are the ONLY holidays thatwill delay trash pickup by ONE DAY: Christmas, New Year’s Day,Memorial Day, Fourth <strong>of</strong> July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.<strong>Fountain</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> prohibits trash scavenging. <strong>to</strong> prevent personsfrom removing bagged newspapers, soda cans, scrap metal, personalinformation, etc., from your curbside. Scavenging is a publicnuisance that creates excessive noise, unauthorized access <strong>to</strong>your personal information (i.e., bank and credit card statements),and is a public health problem. By prohibiting scavenging, <strong>Fountain</strong><strong>Valley</strong> maintains its high aesthetic standards.The anti-scavenging ordinance makes scavenging a misdemeanorpunishable by a fine up <strong>to</strong> $500 and/or six months in County Jail.If you observe scavenging in your neighborhood, please call the<strong>Fountain</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> Police Department at (714) 593-4483.TOXIC CHEMICAL DISPOSALPlease note that it is unlawful <strong>to</strong> dispose <strong>of</strong> household hazardouswaste (such as mo<strong>to</strong>r oil, paint, etc.) in your regular trash. TheOrange County Household Hazardous Waste Collection site isthe nearest legal disposal site located at 17121 Nichols, Hunting<strong>to</strong>nBeach, (714) 847-6752. Waste from business is not accepted.Toxic Chemical Disposal is not allowed in trash containers, drainsor in the streets.
