“Recurring back pain was bothering me every day. It got to benon-stop. Running every day was hard, especially when I hadto slow down because it was hard to breathe. Finally, I made anappointment to see Dr. Schissel at the Newport Health Center. Heexamined me and made a referral to the Pain Management Centerat New London Hospital.I was very pleased with Dr. Julie Franklin at the Pain Clinic. Sheexplained everything to me in a manner I could easily understand. She went through various options to eliminate or alleviate mypain. She was very patient and answered all my questions. Becauseshe wanted to rule out certain conditions, she scheduled me fora series of x-rays. The films showed slight scoliosis in my upperback. Dr. Franklin referred me for physical therapy where amisalignment in my hips was detected. I had 12 weeks of physicaltherapy, two to three times a week. After an interlude, I had anadditional seven week course of therapy, two times a week. Itdidn’t take long for me to see an improvement. When I saw Dr.Franklin in follow-up, she noticed a significant improvement. I wasdischarged from physical therapy but still have exercises that willmaintain the improvement and keep the pain away. I’ve resumedmy running and feel back to normal, thanks to Dr. Franklin andher thorough and caring approach to my care.”Lauryn Baron, Sunapee, NHJulie S.
