HEMO-15®INJECTABLE IRON, AMINO ACIDSAND B-VITAMINSAn injectable haematinic is the quickest wayto improve the quality of a horse’s blood. This treatment is essential when managingiron deficiencies in performance horses, including nutritional and sports relatedanaemia. HEMO-15 ® is an injection thatprovides essential iron, vitamins and aminoacids for red blood cell production.WHAT IS HEMO-15 ® ?4 A haematinic injection containing iron, aminoacids, vitamins, minerals and lipotropes.4 A source of iron and copper which play animportant role in haemoglobin formulation.4 Contains amino acids which provide thebuilding blocks of protein. Horses use proteinto synthesize body tissues such as muscleand bone. Where amino acids are present ininadequate amounts due to nutritional deficiencyor illness, HEMO-15 ® can act as an amino acidsupplement.4 A concentrated source of B-vitamins essential forred blood cell production.WHY USE A BLOODBOOSTING COURSE?Red blood cell (RBC) and haemoglobin levels are two significantcontributing factors to the performance of horses. A bloodboosting course will raise blood counts to the level requiredfor performance - spelling horses have blood counts ofapproximately 6 million where high performance horses haveblood counts between 11-12 million.4 RBC REQUIREMENTS ARE HIGHER FORPERFORMANCE HORSESThis is due to:• increased distruction of RBC’s with hard training,• faster use and shorter lifespan of RBC’s,• stomach ulcers and lung bleeding.4 RBC REPLACEMENT TAKES TIMEAn increase in fast work and the stress of training results inan increase in the body’s requirement for red blood cells. It takes about 5 days for the bone marrow to respond andproduce increased numbers of red blood cells containinghaemoglobin.4 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR RBC PRODUCTIONIt is essential to provide the ‘raw materials’ to feed the bonemarrow so that it can respond to the demand for more red bloodcells. This is best achieved by providing a daily supplement ofiron, copper, cobalt, amino acids and B complex vitamins.Providing equine athletes with the raw materials to feed thebone marrow is an important way to improve the blood countand maximum performance potential.4 IMPROVES RECOVERY AND VITALITYBlood loss and anaemia may develop following injury, illness orsurgery. During this time, an injection of HEMO-15 ® will boostred blood cell production and assist with the recovery andrepair process.

HEMO-15®INJECTABLE IRON, AMINO ACIDSAND B-VITAMINSWHY CHOOSE HEMO-15 ®1. I.V. OR I.M. INJECTIONAllows for rapid provision and utilisation of essential nutrients.2. MULTI VITAMIN AND MULTI MINERALDue to the housing and feeding regimes experienced bymost horses in work and the heavy demands of racing, thedevelopment of subclinical vitamin and mineral deficiencies isa real risk. Injection with HEMO-15 ® following illness or intensetraining will ensure deficiencies are addressed for optimalperformance and recovery.3. COMBINATION THERAPYIt can be used as an additive for all I.V. fluids. These includeamino-acid and vitamin mixtures, electrolytes and dextrose.4. RACE RECOVERYCan be administered post-race to replace essential substancesdepleted due to the metabolic stress of the race.5. RACE PREPARATIONCan be administered up to 24 hours pre-race to correct existingdeficiencies. This will improve blood counts, ensuring optimaluse of energy and decreasing post-race recovery times.QUICK REFERENCE GUIDES80-2476/19INDICATIONS:An injectable iron, amino acid and B-vitamin injection.RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN:• Managing iron deficiencies in performance horses.• Treating nutritional and sports related anaemia.• As an additive for intravenous fluids such as, aminoacid and vitamin mixtures, electrolytes and dextrose.• Following a race to replace essential substances lostthrough the stresses of racing.• As a pre-activity injection with an energy producingpotential.• After surgery, sickness or injury.PRESENTATION:Vials of 100mL.DIRECTIONS:• One mL per 50kg of bodyweight(10mL for 500kg horse).• Intravenous injection recommended.
