If it is not, press theswitch to zero the scale. The unit will sound a “click” upon pressing thebutton.When programmed to do so, and when certain conditions are met,pressing this button will initiate a scale power cycle. When the scale zerobutton is pushed and the weight on the scale is close to zero, the scalewill zero normally like the zero scale function above. Otherwise, thescale will go through a power cycle. If the scale is able to find zero afterthe power cycle, the scale will perform normally. Otherwise, the scale’sprimary indication will display a non-weight indication.This mode allows system support personnel to troubleshoot problemswith the scale. Cycle power to exit Scale Diagnostics Mode.a. Diagnostics Mode is meant for use by trained systems support personnel. Users should not need to initiatethis function under normal circumstances.EAS-Enabled SystemsNOTEElectronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems are aftermarket options, andare installed by either Sensormatic ® or Checkpoint ® technicians at your sitedepending upon which EAS product package is purchased to use with yourscanner.Once the system is activated, EAS security tags are automatically deactivated bypassing items over the EAS antenna located beneath the scanner’s platter.6 Magellan TM 8300/8400
