We are often asked how many bulbs should be planted
together to make a good statement and the answer
depends on how far away one will be when viewing that
particular garden area. A good rule of thumb is, if you are
10’ or closer, 10 bulbs will do; if you are 50’ away, you’ll
need 50 bulbs; if you’ll be 100’ away, you’ll need 100 bulbs,
etc. Here T. ‘Big Chief’, one of the strongest and most
perennial tulips we’ve grown sure makes quite a statement
in the garden and is ‘drop-dead-gorgeous’!
