NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY & NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATIONINSTRUCTIONS TO INVIGILATORSCarefully read following instructions and follow them strictly. Please do not bringmobile phones in the Examination hall.1. Report to the Supervisor one hour before commencement of paper. Ascertainroom/hall and name of fellow invigilator where duty is to be performed.2. Obtain answer sheets, attendance lists. seatine plan with series of test bookletsmarked thereon. Important announcements to be made by the Invigilator and timing of .the same is annexed.3. Candidates with e-Admission Certificate to be allowed entry in theexaminationhall/room, 20 minutes before commencement of examination in each paper.4.(i) If the Admission Certificate is reported to have been lost or is otherwise notporduced but name of the candidate is included in the attendance list, the candidateshould' be allowed to take the examination in the first session and asked to furnishphotograph and writtten undertaking indicating therein, the circumstances andstating that he is appearing in the examination at his own risk. Candidate'should beasked to download the Admission Certificate from UPSC website and produce acopy of the printout of the Admission Certificate in the second session of theexamination.(ii) Candidate has valid Admission Certificate but name is not included inAttendance List;Necessary entries regarding the Roll no. and name should be made in the blankproforma of Attendance List. Duty attested passport size photograph should be pasted inthe space provided for the purpose and candidate should fill the relevant columns in theAttendance List. Above procedure be followed for each session of examination.(iii) In case there is no photograph on e-Admission Certificate or there isdisparity between the photo of the candidate as printed in the admission certificateand Attendance Lists and actual physical appearance, the candidate should beallowed to take the examination at his own risk with undertaking subject to production ofproof of identity such as Identity Card or Voter Identity Card or Passport or DrivingLicense etc. He should be asked to produce photograph on the same day in the nextsession, which should be fixed on undertaking and signed by the Candidate' and attestedby the Invigilator and Supervisor.'.(iv) If a candidate who is absent in the first session, reports for the examination insecond session, he may be al1ow.edto appear in the second session. Mobile phones and such IT Gadgets or any other electronic equipment or anyother equipment capable of being used as a communication device or reference books,electric/electronic calculators, bags, lunch boxes etc. are not allowed inside theExamination Hall. Candidates should leave above items at specified place at the entranceof the building under the charge of the watchman. Any infringement of aboveinstructions by candidates will entail disciplinary action including ban from futureexaminations.6. Candidates may be advised not to bring any valuables/costly items to theExamination HallslRooms as safekeeping of the same cannot be assured. Commissionwill not be responsible for any loss in this regard.7. Following requirements are to be supplied to each candidate:-ANSWER SHEETONE SHEET PER CANDIDATESupply of rough sheets to candidates has been discontinued. One additional sheet(two pages) has been included at the end of each Test Booklet for rough work., Before issuing answer sheets, invigilator should append hislher initials in therectangle provided for this purpose in each answer sheet (left hand corner bottom).8. Test booklets will be deliverd to Invigilators five minutes before commencementof examination in each session. Test booklets should relate to the subject(s) to whichthe candidates under his charge have been admitted. Also ensure test booklets areproperly arranged as per test booklet series indicated in the seating plan.9. Test booklets be distributed in vertical rows, three minutes before commencementof examination. No test booklet should be left on the tables not occupied by anycandidate.10. Candidates are not to be admitted after ten minutes of the scheduled time ofcommencement of the examination in each session. No functionary has any discretion inthis regard. After expiry of ten minutes invigilators should return spare copies of testbooklets and answer sheets to the supervisor.11. After expiry of ten minutes from commencement of exam, if any candidate bringsto notice any defect in his test booklet, matter be reported to the Supervisorimmediately for replacement of defective test booklet with another booklet of thesame series. Necessary correction with regard to Serial No. of test booklet is to bemade by the candidate in the Attendance List.12. After expiry of ten minutes from commencement of examination in each session,check that candidate has filled in all particulars on the answer sheet and test bookletcorrectly. Corrections/changes in roll number be initialed by candidate as well asInvigilator and contersigned by Supervisor.Contd..P3

-:3:-Invigilator should also encode with Black Ball Point Pen the series of the Test Booklets.atthe appropriate space provided in the answer sheet (left hand comer bottom).13. (i) The Commission has introduced Scannable Attendance Lists of candidates. Asthis Scannable Attendance List is to be computer compliant, it is expected that these arehandled with utmost care as is done in the case of Answer Sheet (OMR Sheets). Pleasenote that even if a portion of this Attendance List is tom oft: or is mutilated or spoilt,there may be difficulty is scanning of the Attendance List. Pins, tags or punch holes mustalso not be used with the Attendance List as the same shall obstruct/intetfere with themechanical processing of these sheets.13.(ii) The Scannable Attendance List shall contain two colwnns in six separate boxes,one for each candidate, arranged vertically in serial order. These lists shall containcandidate's name, photograph, roll number, facsimile signature as in the application form,present/absent, Test Booklet series, space for entering the serial no. of the Test Bookletand Answer Sheet, invigilator's signature, etc. The candidate shall be required to fill inthe relevant particulars only in Black Ballpoint Pen against their columns.
