The Citea SLF-120/<strong>hybrid</strong> is such a new-generationserial <strong>hybrid</strong> bus. The ambition has been to significantlyreduce fuel consumption and the emissions of CO 2 , fineparticulates and NOx.This is achieved by using an electric drive system for theCitea SLF-120/<strong>hybrid</strong>, in which the diesel engine serves togenerate the electrical power. What‘s more, the brakingenergy is recovered and the diesel engine shuts off whilepassengers board and exit and whenever else the bus comesto a standstill. When accelerating from a stop only theelectric motor is used. This makes it possible to driveparts of a route using just electric power, producingzero emissions.
