measures (extraordinary result: EUR -4.8 m), net profit fell from EUR 2.4 m in the previous
year to EUR 1.2 m. Despite this, KTG announced an increase in the dividend by 20% to
» KTG is expecting a good 2012e harvest, particularly as 60% of the harvest has already
been presold at prices which are higher than the previous season’s level. Price increases
are expected for the remaining harvest.
KTG’s solid business model and its outstanding market position are positive factors.
AT A GLANCE
Company profile
KTG Agrar is one of Europe’s leading producers of agricultural commodities. The business
model is based on the production, distribution and utilisation of agricultural products in the
business segments Organic Farming, Conventional Farming and Biogas Production.
Supplementary agricultural activities are also carried out in a fourth business segment.
Basis for investment recommendation
KTG Agrar AG is the leading agricultural business in Europe and should benefit from the fact
that the megatrends in the agricultural sector remain intact. KTG reported a very good result in
2011 that was above our expectations. Further growth is planned especially in the biogas
sector (22 MW installed capacity) and with the expansion of Frenzel Tiefkühlkost's bio product
range. KTG is still confident for 2012e and has finalized the stock market flotation of its
subsidiary KTG Energie.
Price sensitive current issues
» Significant increase in sales in the Biogas division
» Stable/rising commodity prices, especially grain prices
