Key Chemical Risk Assessment Policy 2/16/2012 DARRAN Furniture Industries is a manufacturer of high quality wood office furniture products. The ownership and management of DARRAN is proud of the products that are manufactured and equally proud of the Environmental Stewardship that is demonstrated in the manufacturing of the products. DARRAN promotes continuous improvement efforts that provide positive impacts pertaining to the elimination of unnecessary pollution that impacts the quality of air, water, and soil. All state and federal regulations and associated permits are maintained, reviewed and available for inspection. The chemicals and materials used in the manufacture processes are evaluated for their effect on human and ecosystem health prior to purchasing the materials. The potential hazards from process chemicals must be identified and the risks assessed. A risk assessment form is filled out by the Environmental Compliance Manager. The form is used as a “tool” to identify hazardous chemicals and their associated impact. The hazardous chemical is rated with a “risk score” and control strategies are identified and implemented prior to the use of the proposed chemical. The risk assessment process ensures that all employees, and the community at large, are aware of potential hazards and that appropriate handling techniques and control requirements are in place to minimize risk. To ensure that activities are unlikely to cause harm it is necessary to be aware of what could possibly go wrong and what the consequences could be. Control and response procedures must be in place to neutralize an adverse situation and ensure that people are not harmed. This process is supported by DARRAN and is known as Risk Management. Our Risk Management program involves the four basic steps: • Identify hazards – find out what could cause harm. • Assess risks – understand the likelihood of a hazard causing harm and how serious it could be. • Control risks – implement the most effective control measure that is reasonably practicable in the circumstances. • Review control measures to ensure they are working as planned. The risk assessment also considers any potential health risk when the product is in use. Air quality “chamber testing” of finished products are conducted according to the BIFMA X7.1-‐2007 standard. The impact on the ecosystem when products are disposed of are also considered, e.g., recyclability of the product materials and the impact when materials are discarded to a landfill. DARRAN Environmental Stewardship is “transparent”. Below are two plans that are made available to the public emergency responders and the community at large.

DARRAN’s Hazardous Waste Management & Contingency Plan provides the necessary information to direct hazardous waste operations. The plan is designed to comply with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). DARRAN’s Emergency Action Plan is in place to provide a safe working environment for employees and the community at large. This plan complies with 29 CFR 1910.38.
