In addition, Turkishpackaging manufacturers closely follow recentinternational and national developmentsin environmental issues and comply withenvironmental legislation and regulations. Theresearch and development and new productdevelopment activities in the sector havegained more importance in order to achievecompetitiveness worldwide.The annual consumption of packaging isabout 4 million tons. The breakdown ofpackaging products consumption in Turkey is37% for flexible packaging, paper, carton andcorrugated board packaging, 22% for metalpackaging, 20% for plastic packaging, 13% forwood packaging and 8% for glass packaging.
