This transfer of weight across the entire structure ensuresthat cargo will not penetrate through the net and enter the crew and/or cockpit area, located onthe opposite side of the barrier. When compared to a rigid bulkhead structure, the AmSafe 9gmain deck barrier net provides a lightweight solution for separating crew and cargo. When crewmembers need to view the cargo hold or pass through the area, they can use thequick-release attachments located where the net is secured to the airframe. These quickreleasepoints allow easy access by crew and other aircraft personnel passing through eitherside of the barrier. If a smoke or fire curtain is required, it may be mounted adjacent to the net.

Our barrier and bulk-holdnets provide optimalprotection betweencrew and cargo and arechosen by the world’sleading OEMs.Baggage & Bulk-hold NetsAmSafe baggage and bulk-hold restraints are specified as original equipment on numerouscommercial and regional aircraft, including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, BritishAerospace, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), Embraer, Saab, and Sukhoicommercial aircraft.AmSafe nets are used in the belly-hold and cabin sections of the aircraft to prevent baggageand other bulk payloads from moving during flight. The nets are easy to remove for loading andunloading cargo and baggage, and are designed to withstand the demands of cargo operations.AmSafe baggage and bulk-hold nets are manufactured using superior-quality webbing andinterface components, and all materials comply with FAR/JAR 25.603.Designed for a typical configuration in a passenger aircraft belly-hold, AmSafe divider nets areused to partition the hold, while supporting the aircraft’s weight and balance requirements.AmSafe door nets are used to maintain a clear area adjacent to the cargo hold door and toprevent the area from being impeded. Rigid stanchions are often used, where necessary, tominimize the nets’ deflection under load. The number of nets required in each hold area dependson the payload, the aircraft’s g-force requirements, the number of available attachment points, and the existing strength of the interface back-up structure.Design, Test, and CertificationTo ensure the structural integrity for our barrier nets—9g main deck barriers, baggage nets, andbulk-hold nets—AmSafe uses non-linear dynamic finite element analysis (FEA). Our tools andprocesses have been validated by a number of regulatory bodies and aircraft manufacturers. This allows us to model and analyse cargo nets for our customers without the requirement foradditional expensive and time-consuming full-scale testing.Email:sales-airframe@amsafe.comAmSafe provides a comprehensive design, qualification, and certification service, and wemaintain accreditations with the EASA Part 21 Design Organization.
