The appointment will be purely oncontractual basis for a period of 12 months. This contractual appointment is need basedfor a limited period and it will not confer any right or privileges on the appointee forregular appointment. The details of qualification, experience, and selection procedure areas under:-A. Essential Eligibility Conditions:(i) The candidate should have held the post equivalent to JointSecretary/Legal Advisor or Director/Additional Legal Advisor or as aGovernment Counsel in CAT/HC/SC or equivalent at the time ofretirement.(ii) The candidate is below the age of 65 years as on 1 st June, 2011.(iii) Possesses at least five years experience on a continuous basis in handlingCAT and / or High Court /Supreme Court Cases pertaining toadministrative issues, challenges to policy decisions and should be wellversed in law.(iv) The candidate should be proficient in working independently on MS Wordand familiar with other computer applications.(v) A degree in law from a recognized university/ or a National Institute.B. Remuneration and other Conditions:(i)(ii)(iii)The consolidated remuneration will be commensurate to their experienceand qualifications.No other allowances will be payable. However if the Consultant, travelout of the Headquarters will be entitled to TA/DA as admissible under theRules.The assignment is on a full time basis and the Consultant will be requiredto attend the office on all the working days and on holidays, if required, onaccount of exigencies of work.

(iv)(v)(vi)(vii)The period of engagement will be initially for a period of one year, whichmay, at the discretion of the competent authority be either extended orcurtailed.The Consultant will be required to maintain decorum, discipline asexpected of a regular Central Government Officer.The contract can be terminated by either side by giving notice for a periodof one month or one month’s consolidated emoluments in lieu thereof.The contract can be terminated without notice by the competent authority,if at any time the conduct, performance, activities of the individual arefound detrimental to the interests of the Department.C. Selection Procedure(i)(ii)The appointments will be made on the recommendations of a SelectionCommittee constituted for this purpose. The eligible candidates will becalled for interview and on the basis of the recommendations made by theCommittee, the selection will be made.No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.2.
