Fitting Instructions:FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FORNISSAN T31 X TRAILTOWBAR WIRING HARNESS1. Remove 2 piece luggage floor boardassembly. Refer ( Fig 1A ).2. Remove RHS luggage drawer and iffitted LHS luggage drawer. Refer(Fig 1B).3. Remove LHS and RHS plastic pressstuds by depressing centre. Refer( Fig 1C ).4. Rotate both LHS and RHS lockingtabs in far corners of luggage tray. Anglethe luggage tray and carefully remove.5. Remove spare wheel foam insert.Unscrew spare wheel retainer andremove spare wheel.6. Remove weather seal from LHS andRHS and centre rear tailgate. Refer( Fig 1D) and ( Fig 16 ) on Page 8.Remove tailgate sill trim.FIGURE 1AADECB7. Remove accessory compartmentlids from both RHS and LHS. Removespare wheel jack and tools from LHScompartment.8. Using a 10mm socket remove bothLHS and RHS child seat restraintanchor from rear corner trim. Refer( Fig 2 A ).9. Lift rear hook assembly( Fig 3A ) andusing 10mm socket remove screws.Repeat for opposite side.10. Remove cargo blind cavity trim coverand using 10mm socket remove bolt forLHS and RHS. Refer ( Fig 3B ).A13. Disconnect rear right indicatorconnector. Refer ( Fig 4A ). Connecttowbar harness to vehicle harnessand to indicator holder. Refer ( Fig 5A ).24014JH40AZ14. Secure harness to vehicle bodyusing adhesive foam supplied.Ensure surface is clean and freeof dirt. Refer ( Fig 5B ).AFIGURE 415. If RPA is fitted, remove yellow PVCtape on towbar harness and connectthe RPA inhibit connector to themodule. Refer ( Fig 6A ).24014 JH40A-Z16. Secure running length of harness tovehicle body in corner usingadhesive foam supplied. Ensuresurface is clean and free from dirt.Refer ( Fig 7A ).FIGURE 5B17. Ensuring harness is in cavity,replace upper rear quarter paneltrim. Replace lower quarter panel trim.18. Secure harness to vehicle body ateither side of tailgate striker usingadhesive foam patches. Release the locking ofthe trim from the top side of the leftrear quarter panel window section.A20. Using a 10mm socket remove theground terminal screw from behindthe upper quarter panel trim on thesheet metal. Refer ( Fig 9A ).21. Disconnect the rear left indicatorconnector. Connect towbar patchharness to vehicle harness and toindicator holder. Refer ( Fig 9B ).FIGURE 722. Route the white ground lead behindthe vehicle harness. Using theground screw, secure the towbarharness ground lead and the otherground terminals to the sheetmetal. Refer ( Fig 9A ).A23. Using the cable ties provided securethe towbar harness to the vehicleharness in three points.FIGURE 824. Remove grommet from rear leftcavity. Feed main towbar harnessthrough hole. Refer( Fig 1E ). Replace the two plasticscrews to the centre of theunderside of the rear bumper fascia.A34. Replace the two 10mm screws forthe rear bumper fascia bracketinside the wheel arch. Repeat forother side. Refer ( Fig 13A ).FIGURE 1335. Replace rear wheel arch moulding.Using the two plastic rivets securethe splash guard. Repeat for otherside.36. Using the three T20 Torx replace therear left and right mudflaps. Replacethe screw to the back underside ofthe mudflap. Lower vehicle toground level.37. Replace upper and lower rearquarter panel trim. Replace plastichooks. Secure child seat restraintanchors.38. Replace in the following order, floorlevel trim, rubber rear tailgateweather seal, spare wheel andsecure using spare wheel retainer,spare wheel foam insert, cargo tray( securing at all four corners ), righthand side luggage drawer and twopiece luggage floor.FIN1001804/11/09ISSUE 1.3Page 6 of 8
