w w w. s c o r t e l . c o mFVMS MAIN FEATURESFishery VMSCOVERAGE:The Inmarsat-C network provides global coverage; GSM/GPRS networkprovides coverage of all Bulgarian territorial waters and adjacent zonesin the Black Sea.TYPE OF COMMUNICATION:The used networks enable two-way data communication between anyfishing vessel and the Fishery Monitoring Center at any time. Thecommunication delay between the transmission and reception of asimple data message do not exceed one (1) minute.RELIABILITY:The network is operational at all times (24/365). It’s operationalcharacteristics could not be affected by non-exceptional weatherconditions, network overcapacity, etc. In cases of exceptional eventsresulting in failure conditions, recovery/backup possibilities areavailable.BACK-UP:Position reports that cannot be forwarded to the FMC can beautomatically stored/buffered temporarily. The buffering of allincoming position reports from all vessels for a period of one week issecured under failure conditions.CONNECTIVITY:The main FMC in Varna is connected through Internet to all existingremote work stations. The Internet connectivity for the exchange ofposition reports between FMC Varna and foreign FMC’s is alsosupported.TYPE OF COMMUNICATION:The communication takes place in real-time.
