SELECTION PROCEDUREShort-listed candidates on the basis of written exam<strong>in</strong>ation will be called for practical/tradetest. Practical/trade test will be purely of qualify<strong>in</strong>g nature. The selection will be made strictlyas per merit, on the basis of written exam<strong>in</strong>ation subject to gett<strong>in</strong>g qualified <strong>in</strong> the practicalexam<strong>in</strong>ation.Note: Short-listed candidates will be called for verification of the orig<strong>in</strong>al documentsaccord<strong>in</strong>g to merit, subject to availability of vacancies and reservation rules.a. SELECTION PROCEDURE:The selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of written exam<strong>in</strong>ation. Short-listedcandidates will be called for verification of the orig<strong>in</strong>al documents accord<strong>in</strong>g to merit, subject toavailability of vacancies and reservation rules.There shall be negative mark<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> written exam<strong>in</strong>ations and marks shall be deducted for eachwrong answer @1/4 of the allotted marks for each question.The syllabus for the written exam<strong>in</strong>ation will be <strong>in</strong> conformity with the educational standards and/ortechnical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The date, time and venue of thewritten exam<strong>in</strong>ation will be fixed by the OFRB and will be <strong>in</strong>timated to the eligible candidates <strong>in</strong> duecourse. Request for postponement of the exam<strong>in</strong>ation and change of center/venue will not beenterta<strong>in</strong>ed under any circumstance.


7Based on the performance of candidates <strong>in</strong> the written exam<strong>in</strong>ation, candidates equal to 1.25 timesnumber of vacancies shall be called for Trade Test/ Interview. Documents would be verified at thissecond stage. Dur<strong>in</strong>g document verification, the candidates will have to produce their orig<strong>in</strong>alcertificates. No additional time will be given and the candidature of the candidates not produc<strong>in</strong>gtheir orig<strong>in</strong>al certificates on the date of verification is liable to be forfeited.The appo<strong>in</strong>tment of selected candidates is subject to his/her pass<strong>in</strong>g requisite Medical Fitness Test tobe conducted by the concerned <strong>Ordnance</strong> <strong>Factory</strong> Adm<strong>in</strong>istration, f<strong>in</strong>al verification of education,community certificate and verification of antecedent/character of the candidate.F<strong>in</strong>al select list would be displayed <strong>in</strong> order of merit.b. CENTERS FOR EXAMINATIONSFor Recruitment of <strong>Ordnance</strong> <strong>Factory</strong> DumdumKolkataFor Recruitment of <strong>Ordnance</strong> <strong>Factory</strong> NalandaPatnaThere will be two different dates of exam<strong>in</strong>ations for <strong>Ordnance</strong> <strong>Factory</strong> Dumdum and <strong>Ordnance</strong><strong>Factory</strong> Nalanda. We will consider additional centre at Rajgir/ Nalanda, if there are sufficient localapplicants.e. OTHER INFORMATIONThe f<strong>in</strong>al selection of the candidates will be made <strong>in</strong> order of merit <strong>in</strong>each category separately.


8Provided that SC, ST, and OBC, who are selected on their own merit without relaxed standards, alongwith candidates belong<strong>in</strong>g to other communities, will not be adjusted aga<strong>in</strong>st reserved vacancies.Such SC, ST, and OBC will be accommodated aga<strong>in</strong>st the general/unreserved vacancies as per theirposition <strong>in</strong> the overall Merit List. The reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongstthe eligible SCs, STs, and OBCs, candidates which will, thus, comprise of SC, ST, and OBC candidateswho are lower <strong>in</strong> merit than the last general candidate on merit list of unreserved category butotherwise found suitable for appo<strong>in</strong>tment by relaxed standard.An Ex-Serviceman candidate who qualifies on the basis of relaxed standards viz. age limit, experienceor qualifications, extended zone of consideration, etc. will be counted aga<strong>in</strong>st reserved vacancies andnot aga<strong>in</strong>st general vacancies subject to fitness of such candidate for selection. Such candidates willalso be recommended at the relaxed standards. Deduction from the age of Ex-Servicemen ispermissible aga<strong>in</strong>st the reserved or unreserved posts and such exemption is not termed as relaxedstandards <strong>in</strong> regard to age.RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES(a) The tie is resolved by OFRB by referr<strong>in</strong>g to the total marks <strong>in</strong> the written exam<strong>in</strong>ation i.e. acandidate hav<strong>in</strong>g more marks <strong>in</strong> the written exam<strong>in</strong>ation gets preference over the candidate(s)with less marks.(b) If the tie still persists then the marks <strong>in</strong> Part A are referred to i.e. a candidate hav<strong>in</strong>g moremarks <strong>in</strong> Part A is given preference.(c) If the tie still persists, the candidate older <strong>in</strong> age gets preference.(d) If the tie still persists, it is f<strong>in</strong>ally resolved by referr<strong>in</strong>g to the alphabetical order of namesi.e. a candidate whose name beg<strong>in</strong>s with the alphabet which comes first <strong>in</strong> thealphabetical order gets preference.7. ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT:IMPERSONATION/SUPPRESSION OF FACTS/WARNING:No Candidate should attempt impersonation or take the help of any impersonator at any stageof the selection process. Otherwise the candidates will be debarred for 10 Years from appear<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong> all OFRB exam<strong>in</strong>ations as well as debarred from any appo<strong>in</strong>tment <strong>in</strong> <strong>Ordnance</strong> Factories. Inaddition, legal action will be taken aga<strong>in</strong>st the candidate.Any material suppression of facts or submitt<strong>in</strong>g forge certificate/caste certificate by a candidatefor secur<strong>in</strong>g eligibility and/or obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g privileges <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g free travel for appear<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> theexam<strong>in</strong>ation shall lead to rejection of his/her candidature for the particular recruitment forwhich he/she has applied. Further, he/she will also be debarred from all exam<strong>in</strong>ationsconducted by all OFRB/ <strong>Ordnance</strong> Factories all over the country for a period of 2 years and legalaction can be <strong>in</strong>itiated, if warranted.A candidate will be debarred from exam<strong>in</strong>ations of all OFRB/ <strong>Ordnance</strong> Factories for a specifiedperiod/life time if (i) the candidate submits multiple applications for the same post and category;(ii) the candidate submits multiple applications with different community for the same post &category; (iii) the candidate submits multiple applications with different photo (face) for samepost & category and (iv) the candidate submits multiple applications with different documentsfor the same post &category.


9Any candidate found us<strong>in</strong>g unfair means <strong>in</strong> the exam<strong>in</strong>ation or send<strong>in</strong>g someone else <strong>in</strong> his/herplace to appear <strong>in</strong> the exam<strong>in</strong>ation will be debarred from appear<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> all the exam<strong>in</strong>ations of allthe OFRB for lifetime. He/she will also be debarred from gett<strong>in</strong>g any appo<strong>in</strong>tment <strong>in</strong> <strong>Ordnance</strong>Factories. Such candidates are liable to be prosecuted by lodg<strong>in</strong>g FIR.Furnish<strong>in</strong>g of any false <strong>in</strong>formation to the OFRB or deliberate suppression of any <strong>in</strong>formation atany stage will render the candidate disqualified and debarred from appear<strong>in</strong>g at any selection orexam<strong>in</strong>ation for appo<strong>in</strong>tment to <strong>Ordnance</strong> Factories or to any other Govt service. If appo<strong>in</strong>tedthe service of such candidate is liable to be term<strong>in</strong>ated.8. GENERAL CONDITIONS:Candidates selected for appo<strong>in</strong>tment are liable to serve anywhere <strong>in</strong> India.The candidates apply<strong>in</strong>g for the exam<strong>in</strong>ation should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibilityconditions for admission to the exam<strong>in</strong>ation. Their admission at all the stages of exam<strong>in</strong>ation will bepurely provisional, subject to their satisfy<strong>in</strong>g the prescribed eligibility conditions. If, on verification,at any time before or after the written exam<strong>in</strong>ation and <strong>in</strong>terview, it is found that they do not fulfillany of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the exam<strong>in</strong>ation will be cancelled by OFRB.OFRB may hold written exam<strong>in</strong>ation anywhere <strong>in</strong> the country. The Centers allotted by OFRB will bef<strong>in</strong>al and b<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g.Candidates are advised <strong>in</strong> their own <strong>in</strong>terest not to br<strong>in</strong>g any of the banned items <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g mobilephones/pagers to the venue of the exam<strong>in</strong>ation, as arrangement for safe-keep<strong>in</strong>g cannot be assured.Candidates are advised not to br<strong>in</strong>g any valuable/costly items to the Exam<strong>in</strong>ation Halls, as safekeep<strong>in</strong>gof the same cannot be assured.
