MEETING OF MIDWESTERN COUNCIL BOARDS – <strong>Dec</strong>ember 10, <strong>2009</strong>Regular Executive and Competition Board meeting, Sam’s Ristorante, Rockford IL.EXECUTIVE BOARDPresident Cassaro called the meeting to order at 8:14. It was ascertained that a quorumwas present. All <strong>of</strong>ficers were present except Comp Director Wheeler and clubs wererepresented as follows: CSCC-Best, Wells; FT-S.Green, Tunis; GLSCC-Schley;LSCC-Kevin,Martin; MSCC-Anderson, Linden; NSSCC-Saccameno, Serra; SCSCC-Cromas, Lewis; SCCR-P.Green, Rehberg. M(Saccameno) & 2(Wells) to approve the minutes <strong>of</strong> the meeting asprinted. Pass.TREASURER’S REPORT: Not much activity at this time <strong>of</strong> year. MSCC has turned inmembership for 2010. M(Kevin)&2(Jerominski) to approve report as presented. Pass. TheFinance Committee needs to meet soon – possibly early in January.OLD BUSINESS‣ Officer Elections: The slate is: Comp Director-Gary Weis, President-Chuck Cassaro, Vice-President-Dick Kneubuehl, Treasurer-Nancy Harlan, Secretary-Sue Boldt. M(Martin) &2(several) to elect the slate by acclamation. Unanimous pass.‣ Special Award Voting: Balloting took place with winners to be announced at the banquet.‣ Race & Performance Expo: Event is going forward. Serra is lining up vehicles for exhibit.‣ Adult Big Wheel Race: No further details.‣ Banquet Update: Harlan needs pictures, especially those <strong>of</strong> people, for the slide show.Several clubs are donating beverage money, and some free entries were <strong>of</strong>fered for raffleprizes.‣ 2010 Event Schedule: 2 calendars were presented: with and without a Road America date.<strong>Clubs</strong> chose dates from the calendar with a BFR date in place <strong>of</strong> the possible RA date. Alldates were taken except the August 28-29 ACCN event. Cassaro asked clubs if any wouldbe interested in taking that date if a sponsor wished to back the event. It will be considered.NEW BUSINESS‣ IMIS Safety Conference: Cassaro attended and reported that this group works on safetyissues for many kinds <strong>of</strong> sanctioning bodies, devising ways <strong>of</strong> testing safety equipment anddevices. He got information on equipment and track safety, including belt material.‣ Associate MC Membership: Cassaro was approached by a primarily vintage-oriented racinggroup from Texas who are interested in possibly an associate status (events wouldn’t be MCsanctioned,their members couldn’t hold MC <strong>of</strong>fices, but their drivers could apply for MClicenses, pursuant to Art. 6 Section 2 <strong>of</strong> the GCR). Communication will continue.‣ Facebook Advertising: Potential is large. From a Facebook ad, one can click to connect withthe MC website. The MC connection has been getting 7-9 clicks per day from 19000impressions per day. <strong>Clubs</strong> should ask all new contacts how they became aware <strong>of</strong> the MCfor input.‣ MC Gear: Items have been updated with the current logo.‣ Website Updates: Cassaro will contact the website keeper with updates.‣ Office Expense: Cassaro is presenting an assessment <strong>of</strong> around $300 for utilities and <strong>of</strong>ficesupplies for the future. He has not asked for this in the past, but he spends anunprecedented amount <strong>of</strong> time and money on MC business. Request was later withdrawn.
