Your day begins at approximately 6 a.m. To help improve your ability to performdaily self-care, we ask you to get up and actively participate in dressing and selfcareevery morning—practicing the tasks and skills you’ve learned. Assistancemay be more instructional versus physical to encourage continued progress towardindependence. Then, you go to the dining room for breakfast. Meals providea wonderful opportunity to work on daily skills and gain confidence. You willthen begin your therapy schedule for the day. Your therapy times and durationare scheduled specifically for you based on your physical and cognitive needs.Therapy consists of one-on-one and group sessions.Family and friends: your keys to successThe support of family and friends is vital to your success in meeting your rehabilitationgoals. During your stay, your treatment team interacts with your familymembers and/or caregivers to outline specific ways family and friends can help.In fact, family members and friends are often encouraged to participate in yourdaily activities while you’re a patient at <strong>Baptist</strong> Rehab-Germantown. By being apart of your activities at the hospital, family and friends learn how important it isfor you to feel a sense of independence and may be more likely to foster thatindependence when you return home.An outstanding rehabilitation teamYour physical rehabilitation team includes professionals from many disciplines,directed by a physician with extensive experience in rehabilitative medicine. Thephysician remains in direct contact with your rehabilitation team to stay apprisedof your progress.Rehabilitation nursing- Your nurses coordinate your care while making sureyour other rehabilitation goals are being reinforced in all aspects of your care.Several of our nurses have completed their rehabilitation registered nurseadvanced certification.
