Congratulations on your purchase of the <strong>REIZEN</strong> BrailleQuartz Clock with Vibrating Option, one of the finest clocksavailable for people who are blind or who have low vision.Install your battery: The batterycompartment is located on the back ofthe clock. Insert either your thumb orindex finger into the compartment’sdepression. Gently push the lid up andpull back to remove the compartment door. Install one AAbattery into battery box located deep within the clock. With thetop of the clock facing away from you, the positive end of thebattery (with the nub) should be to the left as you install it.Replace the battery cover starting with the top and finishing bysnapping the bottom into place. The top of the cover is the endwith two nubs, while the tactile word “Open” is at the bottom.Setting the time: Remove the clear,plastic face cover. On the back of theclock, just over the battery compartmentdoor is a large, black tactile knob. Gentlylift the knob out. Turning the knob in this“out” position moves the hands on the clock. With clock facingyou, turn the knob counterclockwise. Adjust to correct time bylooking at or feeling the hands. Tactile Braille is provided.When finished, push the knob back in and replace the facecover.Telling the time: Remove the clear,plastic face cover at any time to feel thehands and Braille markings. While theclock is sturdy and well made, werecommend using a gentle touch forlong-lasting enjoyment of your clock.Always replace the face cover when finished.alarm time.Setting the alarm: Set the alarm withthe face cover off and the knob on theback in its “in” position. With the clockfacing you, turn the dialcounterclockwise until you see or feelthe small alarm hand is at the correct2 3 4Alarm on/off: A ridged silver buttonis provided on the side of your clock.Slide the button all the way up to turnthe alarm on. When activated, thealarm sounds a series of beeps until itis deactivated by the off or the snoozebuttons. Slide it to the middle position to turn it off. Slide thebutton to the bottom to activate the Vibration Mode. Vibratorand AC Adapter must be connected for this function to work.Snooze: A large matte silver buttondirectly at the top of the clock can bepressed for an extra few minutes ofsleep once the alarm has gone off.Or, press the snooze button at any time to provide extraillumination to the face of the clock.Vibrator and AC Outlets: Outletsfor optional vibration and AC power areincluded on the lower back of yourclock. To use the vibration option, youmust also use an AC adapter available separately. Pleasecall for information.
