It searches for spin dependent interactions of WeaklyInteracting Massive Particles (WIMP) on 19 F using superheated liquid perfluorobutane(C 4 F 10 ) as its active detector component. With only twoof the 32 detectors analyzed, a limit on the WIMP-proton cross section ofσ p = 0.16pb (90% C.L.) has been obtained, restricting recent interpretationsof the DAMA/LIBRA annual modulations.I am involved in the main analysis leading up to the exclusion curve, localizationof events and hardware.Doctoral ResearchMINOSDissertation Topic: Studying Neutrino Oscillations Using Quasi-Elastic Events in MINOSMain Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search (MINOS) makes a precision measurementon the neutrino oscillation parameters, ∆m 2 23 and sin2 2θ 23 . TheMINOS detectors have a steel/scintillator sandwich plane design.I looked at beam-induced-neutrino-nucleon quasi-elastic events in order tostudy the oscillation parameters.Doctoral Research: Service WorkCalibration of the magnetic field in the MINOS Far DetectorI studied samples of low energy cosmic ray muons that stop within theFar Detector and compared the muon momentum by range to the muonmomentum by curvature in order to calibrate the magnetic field in the FarDetector.Undergraduate Senior Thesis ResearchThesis Topic: Fabrication of Tough Clay Based Ceramics for EngineeringApplicationsFabricated conventional clay based ceramics with suitable additives like Y 2 O 3and ZrO 2 to obtain strength properties required for engineering applications.Research Experience Page 3 of 5
