H&E Crane RemanufacturingCRANE REMANLargest Manitowoc Dealer in the World! With over 50 years in the crane business, and having grown to become the world’s largest Manitowoc Cranedealer, H&E Equipment Services has the experience and know-how to extend the life of your crane to “likenew” condition through remanufacturing. Crane remanufacturing saves you money…up to 50% over thepurchase of a new crane. We have may example to prove it!Take full advantage of the productive potential in your older cranes, have them remanufacturedand their performance enhanced with the latest technology. Don’t compromise the results…trust H&E Remanfor your remanufacturing needs. Why Remanufacture? Why H&E Remanufacturing? There are many reasons to remanufacture, but the most important are Economics, Delivery, Reliability, andPerformance. Remanufacturing is a cost-effective way to attain increased performance at a fraction of theprice of a new machine. The time required to deliver a remanufactured machine is often less than a new one, faster delivery of a machine to obtain production means increased profitability. Older or seasoned machinesand their components are often further stress relieved during their use in the industry, therefore assuring thefinal product to be very reliable in maintaining geometric tolerances. And finally, with today’s high technologyand new enhancements, remanufactured machines will perform to more rigid requirements and longer lifeexpectancies. When you purchased your new machine, you knew you could expect more from the machine and from thecompany that stood behind it. For that reason, only the H&E Reman Centers have the combination ofproduct knowledge, precision tools, process controls and complete records to restore your machine to itsoriginal specifications…or beyond! In addition, through continuous improvement, we know the enhancementsand improvements that have been made since your older machine was built; and in many cases, theseenhancements can be incorporated into your machine during remanufacturing.Definition of TermsREMANUFACTURED (REMAN)Remanufactured equipment is restored, top-to-bottom, to “LIKE-NEW” quality, and follows the recommendedmanufacturer specifications.REFURBISHED (OVERHAUL)Refurbished Equipment is overhauled with an emphasis to extend equipment life without total remanufacturing. The owner provides direction on the overall scope of repair, as long as structural integrity is not compromised.REBUILT (MAJOR REPAIR)Rebuilding is typically more component based. The owner defines which components will be rebuilt and thescope of repairs.Who Should Remanufacture? What ever the size of your company, remanufacturing can be considered. Since most small companiesspecialize in a specific type of work, their machine must maximize the efficiencies of the company. A remanufacturedmachine can increase productivity with considerable savings to the user. Mid-size companies canjustify remanufacturing because of the initial savings, delivery and response to special requirements. Largecompanies have the convenience of rotating their machines out of their schedule for the remanufacturingprocess.

What Types of Machines Should Be Remanufactured?CRANE REMANLargest Manitowoc Dealer in the World!Special machines with unusual functions should be remanufactured to include processes and functions notoriginally intended for the machine. Large and medium size machines are excellent because of the cost ofdelivery. Likewise, special application or duty cycle machines take longer to manufacture new. An obsoletemachine or one that was built to perform specific operations can remain productive through the remanufacturingprocess. When Should You Remanufacture?Justification for remanufacturing is always easiest during peak demand periods. This is usually when therealization occurs that the existing machine is causing excessive down time and schedules cannot be kept. But most companies cannot take a machine out of service at these times. Therefore, the slow periods are thebest times to remanufacture even though the availability of capital may be lower. You will be prepared to meetdemand on the up turn in the market for your services. Finally, if relocation is in your plans, this is an excellenttime to consider remanufacturing as transportation costs will already be a factor...in any event, remanufacturingshould be a part of an ongoing preventive maintenance program in your organization. Extending the life ofyour crane through remanufacturing significantly lowers the lifetime ownership cost of that crane. Why Use A Specialized Remanufacturing Facility? The ideal and best approach in using H&E Reman is the availability of total commitment, including machinery, tools, crane facilities, engineering support, and test equipment. These, along with skilled tradesmen thathave the know-how of your equipment, justifies this approach. In addition, the total cost is usually lessbecause of travel and living expenses for the remanufacture.Know Your Remanufacturing SourceIf you want the most from your remanufactured machine, don’t settle for short cuts or a “quick fix” approachthat will compromise the long-term productivity and reliability of your machine. When your machine is rebuiltor remanufactured at H&E Reman, it is first totally disassembled, cleaned and inspected. All major componentsare checked and verified for integrity, and to assure they are OEM parts. All bearings, seal, and bushingsare replaced with OEM replacement parts. Also, all critical phases of the remanufacturing process arereviewed and periodic inspections by a factory representative are mandatory. We also bring all controls andsafety devices up to current applicable OSHA and ANSI standards. Finally, the machine is thoroughlyinspected and run in order to assure that it meets or exceeds Manitowoc and your specifications. You Have H&E’s and Manitowoc’s GuaranteeWe back our promise of quality with a parts and service warranty that is unequalled in the industry. CRANE REMANLargest Manitowoc Dealer in the World!H&E EQUIPMENT SERVICES – HISTORYH&E Equipment Services was established in 1961, when manufacturer’s sales representative Tom Engquist and Houstonequipment distributor Frank Head recognized a trend of growth along the Mississippi River and decided to take advantageof the increasing opportunities that were developing in the earthmoving and construction equipment business.Founding their alliance in Baton Rouge, the two men named their company Head and Engquist and focused on offeringquality construction equipment and personalized customer service.By 1968, the reputation Tom Engquist and Frank Head built drew the attention of Southwest Growth Pool. SouthwestGrowth Pool, a diversified conglomerate, bought Head & Engquist and retained the services of Tom Engquist to managethe business. In 1974 Southwest Growth Pool elected to liquidate and Tom Engquist once again purchased the company along withminority partner Bob Kennedy. Business continued to grow with the opening of a new branch in Kenner, LA in 1978.Expanding to Kenner enhanced opportunities in the growing New Orleans market.Six years later, Kennedy left Head & Engquist to join Houston’s South Texas Equipment as their executive vice presidentand general manager. Like Head & Engquist, Southwest Texas Equipment was the Grove Crane distributor, which set thestage for a merge with Head & Engquist. The opportunity to merge the two companies came in 1988 when South Texas Equipment’s parent company moved todivest itself from the wholesale equipment business. A partnership including Bob Kennedy, Tom Engquist and his son Johnwas quickly formed to purchase South Texas Equipment. In 1991, the company’s stock was liquidated, and it became awholly-owned division of Head & Engquist.Other Head & Engquist stores opened between 1985 and 1991 in Shreveport, LA; Lake Charles, LA; and Beaumont, TX.Between 1995 and 1997, branch offices also opened in Alexandria, LA; Little Rock, Springdale and Fort Smith, AR; SanAntonio, TX; Jackson, MS; and Memphis, TN. Aerial lift divisions opened in Southern Texas and Gonzales, LA.To solidify the crane and aerial lift market in the large Dallas, TX area, Head & Engquist acquired Martin Equipment inAugust 1998. This Dallas-based distributor boasted more than $20 million in annual sales, and provided Head & Engquistaccess to the Manitowoc Crane line. The purchase of this Manitowoc Crane distributor meant instant expansion intoMartin’s territory of North, East and West Texas. Such a strategic move was important because Manitowoc Cranes holdsthe highest market share for lattice boom cranes in the United States. That same year, Head & Engquist acquired Houston-based Coastal Crane. In business since 1971, Coastal was amongthe leaders in the Manitowoc distributor network. Coastal also rebuilt Manitowoc cranes, sold replacement parts andserviced Manitowoc cranes. The Coastal acquisition included offices in Belle Chase, LA and Birmingham, AL, and openedmarkets in Southern Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Tennessee.Continual growth established Head & Engquist as a premium equipment dealer and one of the largest equipment distributorsin the world.Belle Chasse2309 Engineers Rd.Belle Chasse, LA 70037Toll Free: 877-321-5250Office: 504-394-7400Birmingham4871 Commerce DriveTrussville, AL 35173Toll Free: 877-321-5251Office: 205-661-1323Dallas/Fort Worth3510 Roy Orr Blvd.Grand Prairie, TX 75050Toll Free: 800-400-7016Office: 972-986-0910Houston1700 S.
