BULLETINBOARDcontinued from page 7.Remember...Keep in mind that all match andclassifier reports for 1998 must be receivedby this office no later thanJanuary 31, 1999, in order to be includedin the 1998 final reports. Thethird quarter reports will be out thefirst week of November; please readthem carefully and let us know immediatelyif there is a discrepancy.Postage Due...Since January of this year, wehave had 1,600 pieces of mail returnedto us by the post office asundeliverable. Most of these havebeen either the In Touch or the FrontSight, and in the latter case, all weget back is the cover. Each time thepost office notifies us that there is anew address or that the item is "undeliverableas addressed," theycharge us anywhere from 32 to 50cents. As a result, we have paid outmore than $600 so far this year. Eachtime we get something marked "undeliverable"or "no forwarding ad-dress," we take that address out ofthe system so no more mailings willbe sent.Clubs, please remind yourUSPSA members: "If you havemoved, if the post office has assignedyou a new address or zipcode, USPSA needs to know. If youwere expecting to get a renewal noticeor a magazine and didn't getone, check to make sure your addressis correct. You may telephone, fax, e-mail or mail address changes, and the post office also has changeof address cards which can be filledout and dropped in the mail."Members, please remember - wecan't send you anything if we don'tknow where you are!Reaffiliation PacketsAll currently affiliated clubs whohave met their minimum requirementsor plan to do so by the end ofthe year will be sent a reaffiliationpacket on or about the middle ofNovember. If your club doesn't receiveone, please check with yourclub contact or with USPSA headquarters. The deadline for gettingthe reaffiliation form back to us isFebruary 15, 1999.Congratulations! YouHave Been Moved UplEINWe often get calls from peoplewho, because of their sterling performanceat an area match or largemajor match, have been "bumpedup" in class. We also sometimes getcalls from people who anticipate beingmoved up because they werejust at an area championship andshot really well. How does thiswork? In order for us to move a competitorup at a major match or tournament, that competitor has to winor place second in his class at thecompetition AND score into thenext higher class. In other words, ifthe competitor, who has a C classOpen classification, wins C class atArea X and shoots a B class score of67 percent, he or she will be a candidatefor a move-up. All move-upsfrom major matches or tournamentsare done as soon as we receive thefinal results from the host club, andthe participant will receive a note ofThis book is worth $1,000!Freedom From-flr,jr,17":311Trigger jerk is the number one shooting problem today. It may start small but it never cures itself and it nearlyalways gets worse. congratulations along with a newclassification card. There is another way to move upor down in class, but these originatefrom the member. If shooters believethey are classified too low (or toohigh), they must request in writingto be moved up or down, statingtheir reasons why they feel theirclassifications should be changed.Along with this, we must receive aletter from their club president orsection coordinator endorsing themove. We will then review theirscore histories. If there is sufficientevidence that they should be movedup - or down - we will reclassifythem and send a new card. Eitherway, they will be informed in writingof our decision.Welcome Back! One of the pleasures of this job isto answer the phone and renewsomeone who was a member threeor four years ago, stopped shooting, and is coming back to us. Can theyuse their old number? You bet, aslong as it is still in the computer. Dothey have to pay their back dues? No, we will renew them for a yearfrom the time they renew.Well, then, what about their classification? In many instances, if thelapse has been three years or less, the classification is reinstated whenthe membership is renewed. If thelapse has been greater, however, therenewed member can be reinstatedby having the club president fill outa "request for reinstatement" formand send it in to USPSA headquartersalong with proof of the old classification, such as a copy of themember's old classification card or apage from one of the pistol classificationbooks which shows the oldclassification. Club presidents, ifyou do not have a copy of the "requestfor reinstatement" form, please let us know and we will sendyou one.1999 MISSION COUNT DEADLINESThe following chart contains important information regarding submissionof classifiers and mission count.
