<strong>St</strong> <strong>Helens</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Knowsley</strong> <strong>NHS</strong> <strong>Trust</strong>Health Economy Escalation PlanESCALATION STATUS: GREEN (Level 1)<strong>St</strong>atus Criteria: Pro-active bed management – Normal working• Bed capacity within the <strong>Trust</strong> is such that it is able to maintain both Emergency <strong>and</strong> Elective admissions in all specialities inthe forthcoming 24 hour period <strong>and</strong> there is capacity within the Critical Care areas of the <strong>Trust</strong>• No patients waiting to be seen in E.D longer than 4 hours with accessible beds at decision to admit time to assessment areas• Predicted discharges match or exceed predicted admissions• Transfer from “Red Alert” Hospital will be accepted – Treat & Transfer <strong>and</strong> Blue Light• No requirement for Escalation beds to be opened• No compromise of the elective programmeACUTE TRUST RESPONSIBILITIES (<strong>St</strong>atus Green)Actions Required Details of Person(s) Responsible Contacts Required• Assistant Directors or nominateddeputies.• Emergency Access Meetings totake place every day.
