› This unit offers students a comprehensive knowledge of the physical and
economic structure of each of the fundamental modes of transport for
private and commercial stakeholders stakeholders. In this fundamental introductory unit unit,
each mode - road, rail, air and sea - is presented from economic and
market intelligence perspectives, giving students vital information on what

Research Projects
› Students in the MTM or MLM (or combined degrees) may undertake up to
two units of research as part of their degree.
› Students must have completed at least four TPTM units before
undertaking a project and need an average mark of at least 70%.
› Rather than attending lectures, lectures students work with an academic supervisor
on a project of interest to both the student and the academic.
› Academics have created a list of proposed p p topics p ( (see the ITLS website) )
but interested students may suggest their own topic.
› At the end of the Semester students submit a research report and make a
presentation.
