What you ought to know about us
The origins of Chemieanlagenbau
Chemnitz GmbH (CAC) date back
to 1811 when the craftsman Johann
Samuel Schwalbe founded an
machine manufacture in Chemnitz
(Saxony) from which the famous
“Germania” engineering works
emerged.
Plants and facilities for domestic
and foreign markets were designed,
delivered and commissioned from
1964 onwards, at first by the plant
engineering department of Germania.
Later this department was
developed into a specialized company
for international chemical plant
construction.
In 1990, after German reunification
and the political and economic
changes resulting from it, the company
was integrated into Lurgi AG
Frankfurt, a renowned, internationally
active engineering company.
In the 15 years to follow, numerous
large-scale projects were implemented
in cooperation with Lurgi AG
and on the company’s own responsibility.
Since the 1 st of April, where
the refoundation within the scope
of the MBO took place, CAC is again
been active in its traditional areas of
activity.
The company, as a successor of Lurgi
AG, can boast of 45 years of tradition
in the international plant construction
market. CAC is now continuing
the company’s success story.
