Anyone interestedin understanding or modifying this design should read this guide. This guide is targeted to help a Bluetooth Member or their BQE understand the role of theBCM20730 in a complete Bluetooth wireless product being integrated for qualification. TheBluetooth Program Reference Document requires that all Bluetooth Components have aReference Integration Note (RIN) as a pre-requisite for qualification. This RIN has been uploadedto the Bluetooth SIG Qualification Listing Interfaces for the Qualified Design ID B019202 prior toqualification of this design and is available for Member use when creating new Bluetooth productsby integration of this product into their product implementation.2 PRODUCT OVERVIEWThe Broadcom BCM20730 is a Bluetooth 3.0 single-chip HID (human interface device) solutionthat enables advanced wireless connectivity for PC peripherals and 3D glasses at morecompetitive price points and longer battery life than competing solutions. The BroadcomBCM20730 Bluetooth transceiver solution integrates key electronic components that arecommonly found in keyboards, mice, remote controls and 3D glasses, enabling more affordablewireless products that extend and enhance the experience of using PCs, notebooks, netbooks, tablets, DTVs, set-top-boxes, Blu-ray players, and a growing range of consumer electronicsdevices. The new Broadcom BCM20730 single-chip HID solution enables a new generation of wirelessinput peripherals and 3D glasses that take advantage of Bluetooth, the most widely availabletechnology for these applications. With smaller size, a higher level of integration andmanufactured in 65 nanometer (nm) CMOS process technology, the BCM20730 delivers lowerpower consumption than other wireless HID solutions for longer battery life and a more satisfyinguser experience.2.1 ApplicationThe design is targeted for embedded peripherals such as legacy 3DG.2.1.1 Product Type DeclarationThis product is listed as Bluetooth Component Product. If you use this product to implementBluetooth in your product’s design further qualification and listing is required in accordance withRIN Datasheet [2013-03-20]
