The main goals are to teachstudents how to problem solve, communicate and reason mathematically, make mathematicalconnections, create and interpret mathematical representations and models, and make efficientand appropriate use of technology to solve problems.Classroom Expectations:Each student must take personal responsibility for his or her actions every day. There are a fewprocedures and expectations that we would like to outline from the start:Arrival to class: Upon arrival to class, you should sit in your seat and begin working on thebell work, which will be on the Promethean board or handed out as you enter the room. If nobell work is assigned, have out your materials to begin working as soon as we give anassignment. Your homework should already be out on your desk for us to come around andcheck.Tardiness: If you are not sitting in your seat ready to start class when the bell rings, and youdon’t have a note from a teacher, you are tardy. During each Marking Period:• First Tardy – Warning• Second Tardy – Call Home• Third Tardy – Office Referral/ DetentionMaterials: Every day you must bring the following to class:• A pencil with an eraser• A notebook or loose-leaf paper for note taking• A three-ring binder for storing work sheets• Your agenda for writing down homework assignmentsClassroom Materials: There will be a classroom set of Calculators and Textbooks for usein the classroom only. Every student must return all materials to the cart at the end of classbefore anyone leaves the classroom.Turning in Assignments: All assignments that you turn in to us (Tests, Quizzes, Classwork,Homework, etc.) must be placed in the orange basket or handed to one of us in the Math Pod.Do NOT put an assignment in our hands when you see us in the hallway or in the classroom.
