12NOTES TO MAY-JUNE <strong>2012</strong> TIMETABLE - CAPE1. The time indicated on the <strong>Time</strong>table includes Reading <strong>Time</strong>.2. Starting times for all centres within a territory are 09:00 hr and 13:00 hr.3. Art and Design: The Test Papers (Papers 2 and 3 for Unit 1 and Papers 01and 02 for Unit 2) are to be handed to candidates on Friday, 13 April. Theexaminations must be completed during the period 07-16 May.4. Once scheduled in the same session, the Alternative Paper 03/2 must bewritten after Paper 01.5. Private candidates registered for the Alternative Paper (04/2) in the Frenchand Spanish Unit 1 and Unit 2 examinations will not be required to take awritten paper but will be required to take the oral examinations. No dateshave been scheduled for the oral examinations, however, they must be takenbetween 23–27 April, at the discretion of the Local Registrar.Use of Dictionaries6. The use of dictionaries is permitted for French and Spanish Paper 03ONLY. 13Use of Notes in Law Examination by Candidates8. Candidates writing the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) for Law Units 1 and2, will be permitted to take into the examination room prepared notes on the topicof the year (Sentencing in Unit 1 and Leases and Licenses in Unit 2 – these arefound in the 2008 Law Syllabus at page 37). When responding to the question,candidates may refer to their prepared notes.Use of Compact Discmans9. The use of Compact Discmans with earphones is permitted in the French Units 1and 2 Paper 01, and Spanish Units 1 and 2 Paper 01. Each candidate will beprovided with a compact disc (CD) for use in the Paper 01 examination.Use of Geometry Sets10. The use of geometry sets (mathematical instruments) is permitted in the followingexaminations:(i) Applied Mathematics Units 1 and 2(ii) Pure Mathematics Units 1 and 2(iii) Environmental Science Units 1 and 2(iv) Geography Units 1 and 2Multiple Choice Papers11.
