InvitationED-MEDIA <strong>2002</strong> – World Conference on Educational Multimedia,Hypermedia & Telecommunications is an international conference, organized by <strong>the</strong><strong>Association</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE). This annual conferenceserves as a multidisciplinary <strong>for</strong>um <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> discussion and exchange of in<strong>for</strong>mationon <strong>the</strong> research, development, and applications on all topics related to multimedia,hypermedia and telecommunications/distance education. ED-MEDIA, <strong>the</strong> premiereinternational conference in <strong>the</strong> field, spans all disciplines and levels of educationand attracts more than 1,200 attendees from over 50 countries.We invite you to attend ED-MEDIA <strong>2002</strong> and submit proposals <strong>for</strong> papers, panels, tutorials,workshops, posters/demonstrations, corporate demos, and SIG discussions. Eachproposal will be reviewed by three reviewers <strong>for</strong> inclusion in <strong>the</strong> conference program, proceedingsbook, and CD-ROM proceedings.In<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>for</strong> PresentersDetails of presentation <strong>for</strong>mats are given on <strong>the</strong> following pages. The general principlesapplying to all are:➤ All communication will be with <strong>the</strong> contact presenter who is responsible <strong>for</strong>communicating with co-presenters of that session.➤ All presenters must register and pay <strong>the</strong> registration fee (approximately$380 members, $420 non-members (US$).➤ The conference will attempt to secure basic equipment needed <strong>for</strong> presenters.However, when special equipment cannot be obtained, presenters may need tobring or rent equipment. The name of a rental firm can be provided.ProceedingsThe Proceedings book and CD-ROM will be published by AACE. These proceedingsserve as major sources in <strong>the</strong> multimedia/hypermedia/telecommunications community,reflecting <strong>the</strong> current state of <strong>the</strong> art in <strong>the</strong> discipline. In addition, selectedpapers may be invited <strong>for</strong> publication in <strong>the</strong> Journal of Educational Multimedia andHypermedia (JEMH), International Journal on E-Learning (IJEL), or Journal ofInteractive Learning Research (JILR).Hotel & Travel ArrangementsSpecial hotel room rates will be available to conference attendees. Discount airfareswill be available from a designated airline carrier.Paper AwardsPapers present reports of significant work or integrative reviews in research, development,and applications related to educational multimedia, hypermedia andtelecommunications/distance education.All presented papers will be considered by <strong>the</strong> Program Committee <strong>for</strong>Outstanding Paper Awards.
