COLLECTIONChuck Close’s Georgia (above) was seen in the film titled“Legal Eagles.”<strong>The</strong> <strong>Butler</strong>’s prestigious <strong>American</strong>Western collection is strongly representedwith seventeen images appearingin the current film release <strong>of</strong>“<strong>The</strong> Assassination <strong>of</strong> Jesse James bythe Coward Robert Ford” starring BradPitt. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Butler</strong> images (not theactual paintings) were loaned to theproduction company for a onetimeuse, and were reproduced in the filmas a part <strong>of</strong> the motion picture’s setdesign.<strong>Butler</strong> collection images appear inmany books and art catalogues, andhave been seen in other Hollywoodfilms in the past. Chuck Close’sGeorgia from the <strong>Institute</strong>’s collectionappeared in the film “Legal Eagles,”and more recently, the <strong>Butler</strong>’sEdward Hopper masterpiece PennsylvaniaCoal Town was featured in theSean Connery movie “Entrapment.”For information about usage fees for<strong>Butler</strong> images, contact the museum’sRights and Reproductions Department,., ext. .5Charles Sheeler’s Steam Turbine (above) will be loaned to theDes Moines <strong>Art</strong> Center (Iowa) and to the St. Louis Museum <strong>of</strong><strong>Art</strong> (Missouri).Works from the <strong>Butler</strong>’s permanentcollection continue to tour the nation,spreading goodwill and informationabout “America’s Museum.” Upcomingcollection loans include: EverettShinn’s Dancer in White Before theFootlights to the Nassau CountyMuseum (New York); Janet Fish’sFeeding Caitlin to the Wilson Museum(Vermont); George Inness’ HazyMorning Montclair, NJ to the Clark <strong>Art</strong><strong>Institute</strong> (Massachusetts); WilliamBlakelock’s Twilight to the Sheldon <strong>Art</strong>Gallery (University <strong>of</strong> Nebraska) andNational Academy <strong>of</strong> Design (NewYork City); Julian Alden Weir’s <strong>The</strong>Oldest Inhabitant to the Trust forMuseum Exhibitions for a tour <strong>of</strong> -venues in the United States; CharlesSheeler’s Steam Turbine to the DesMoines <strong>Art</strong> Center (Iowa) and the St.Louis Museum <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong> (Missouri); andElihu Vedder’s Nile Journey andRobert W.
