Guide to online registration (via e:Vision) 2012/132 <strong>Online</strong> <strong>Programme</strong> <strong>Registration</strong> (via e:Vision)Every student at <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> is required to register on their programme of study at the beginning of the academic year.<strong>Registration</strong> is the formal process of becoming a student of <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong>. It enables you to attend lectures and seminars, receivetuition, sit examinations and register with the Library and other services. It also requires you to confirm compliance with <strong>Leeds</strong><strong>Trinity</strong> regulations. It is not about choosing and confirming the modules you wish to study – this is a separate exercise.2.1 What is programme registration via e:Vision?<strong>Online</strong> programme registration involves using the web to:check your agreement to abide by the regulations and procedures governing your studies at <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong>;check and amend the personal and programme details <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> holds for you.You must complete registration online as soon as possible to avoid:delays in the payment of your first student loan instalment (if applicable);delays in your student ID card being issued (applicable to new students only).The final date for registration is four weeks after the published start date of your programme. After that date you will be deemed tohave permanently withdrawn from your studies at <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong>.2.2 Accessing your e:Vision Accounte:Vision is the name of <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong>’s web-based student records system, and is the method you will use to register online withus. It will be used throughout your <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> career, to access such information as your module results, to register your moduleselections and update us on any changes of address or telephone numbers etc.In order to register online you will need the following information:All students will require their <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> IT username and password which if you are a new student you received in yourINTRO pack or in the case of a returning student the IT username and password you have used previously;Address details, including emergency next of kin contacts and telephone numbers.To access the online registration system, e:Vision, please go to:https://tas12.leedstrinity.ac.uk/sipr/sits.urd/run/siw_lgn and log on using your <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> IT username and password.If you have forgotten your password you may acquire a temporary password by clicking on the “Forgotten Password?” link on thee:Vision log in page. A temporary password will be emailed to you. Please note that this a temporary password allowing youaccess to e:Vision only and you will need to contact the I.T. Helpdesk to change your password (email the IT helpdesk:helpdesk@leedstrinity.ac.uk).Once logged in you should see the red <strong>Programme</strong> registration link. This will take you to the registration task and you may beginthe registration process.

Guide to online registration (via e:Vision) 2012/134 Module Selection (undergraduate)4.1 IntroductionFor every academic year, full-time undergraduate students must be registered for modules totalling 120 credits. One module isusually worth 20 credits and therefore, full-time students normally study 6 modules taught across a full academic year. A smallnumber of modules, for example within Primary Education, are worth 10 credits and are taught in one semester only.Details of undergraduate programmes and modules are available on the web via the <strong>Programme</strong> of Study Cataloguehttps://tas12.leedstrinity.ac.uk/sipr/IPP_FEHQ_CATALOGUE/index.htmSelect the course and then browse the module descriptions in the catalogue.4.2 Understanding Modules and Module CodesThere are two types of module:CoreCompulsory modules which you must take as part of your programme of study.OptionModules which you must take but you may select from a prescribed list.Modules are coded so that the subject area and the level of study are identifiable. The format of our 20 credit modules are asfollows: ENG4512The first 3 letters of the module denote the academic subject area to which the module belongs. The first number following thethree letter code denotes the level of study. The last number denotes the credit value (a module code ending in 1 = 10 credits; amodule code ending in 2 = 20 credits).For example, ENG4512 is a 20 credit module at level 4 from the subject area of English.4.3 Module <strong>Registration</strong> for New StudentsNew students are able to make initial module selections via their e:Vision account on receipt of their INTRO pack in August.These are an expression of interest only and you are advised to discuss your proposed module selections with your ProgressTutor during your first week at <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong>. You will be asked to confirm your final module selections (if any) and register yourchoices via your e:Vision account.Once you have decided which modules you wish to take you should log on to your e:Vision account and submit your modulechoices and complete module registration.4.4 Amending Module Selections (Drop/Add)If you wish to change any of your option module choices after you have completed the module registration process via e:Vision,you may request an amendment to your registration during the two week 'Drop/Add' period which normally runs from the first weekof teaching for two weeks.To request a change to your option module choices you should complete a Module <strong>Registration</strong> Amendment form and submitthis to Student Administration within the deadline. Forms are available on the web at www.leedstrinity.ac.uk/registryservices orfrom Student Administration (AM36). Please note that this is the only time in the academic year when you will be able torequest changes to your module selections.


Guide to online registration (via e:Vision) 2012/134 Module Selection (continued)4.5 Confirmation of Module SelectionsConfirmation of module selection will be available during the first week of October and may be viewed via your e:Vision account.Please note that it may not always be possible to place you on your first choice modules and you may be placed on your reservemodule choice. It is important that you check your modules carefully as soon as the information is available via e:Vision as you willonly be registered for, assessed in and receive credit for the modules stored on your record.

If you are unable to access the timetable on the web,you can contact Student Administration timetabling staff for further assistance, on 0113 2837197 or via emailh.brown@leedstrinity.ac.uk. Please note that tutorial, seminar and workshop groups will be allocated by your department.Faculties/departments will fully explain your timetable to you during the first week at <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong>.5.2 Confirmation of AttendanceYou may need a letter to prove that you are a student when applying for student bank accounts or gym memberships for example.You may obtain a confirmation of attendance letter from Student Administration by emailing studentadmin@leedstrinity.ac.uk or byvisiting Student Administration (AM36) during normal office hours.5.3 Council Tax ExemptionAs a <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> student you are entitled to exemption from council tax. If you live in <strong>Leeds</strong>, Bradford or Wakefield your authoritywill be automatically informed that you are a student here and are exempt from paying council tax. If you live outside <strong>Leeds</strong>,Bradford and Wakefield you should contact Student Administration to obtain a council tax exemption certificate. Please emailstudentadmin@leedstrinity.ac.uk or visit Student Administration (AM36) during normal office hours. Please note that exemptioncertificates can only be produced for term time accommodation which is recorded on your student record.5.4 Student Loan PaymentsIn order to receive your student loan you must be a fully registered student at <strong>Leeds</strong> <strong>Trinity</strong> and have received your finalnotification documentation from the Student Loans Company (SLC). The information held by the SLC must match that stored inyour student record for the loan to be released. The transfer of your student loan into your bank account usually takes between 3to 5 working days.

Wewill endeavour to answer your queries as soon as possible. Alternatively, you may contact Student Administration on 01132837118 between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Thursday, and 9am and 4pm Friday. To help us, please quote your student IDnumber in all correspondence.6.2 Can I register any way other than online?If you require support with the online registration process or would like to discuss alternative methods of registration please contactthe registration helpdesk at evision@leedstrinity.ac.uk or ring Student Administration on 0113 2837118.6.3 Do I need to register by a certain date?It is important that students enrol promptly and on the date or within the time periods specified.
