Learning <strong>and</strong> Study SupportThe team is located in the Library Learning Centre M Block <strong>and</strong> learning support is available free to allmainstream students at both the <strong>Nelson</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Marlborough</strong> campuses. They will advise <strong>and</strong> assist you withany aspect of your learning, offering one to one training as well as a range of seminars or small grouptraining sessions (<strong>Nelson</strong>). Their aim is to help students to become independent effective learners.Please see the team <strong>for</strong> help with: General study skills ‐ organisation, essay or assignment writing, memory <strong>and</strong> revision skills, examtechnique Computer skills ‐ Getting started on a computer, word processing, Internet <strong>and</strong> email skills,spreadsheets <strong>and</strong> databases Maths ‐ Calculator <strong>and</strong> Arithmetic skills, decimals, percentages, Algebra, trade calculations, Statistics,Calculus English language support ‐ pronunciation, improving writing skills, interpreting assignments,developing better communication skillsLibrary Learning Centre<strong>NMIT</strong> has a library at each of its campuses, plus small collections at other locations where <strong>NMIT</strong> courses areoffered.The Library Learning Centre (LLC) on the <strong>Nelson</strong> campus provides library services, computing,photocopying, audio‐visual <strong>and</strong> study facilities to support the learning <strong>and</strong> research needs of <strong>NMIT</strong> students<strong>and</strong> staff. The collection consists of books, journals, electronic databases <strong>and</strong> audio‐visual resources.
