The Seniors Card is a Victorian Government initiative in partnership with the
private sector to encourage people who have retired or who are working parttime
to continue to engage with the community. Cardholders are able to obtain a
wide range of discounted goods and services from participating businesses
including travel, accommodation, hospitality, entertainment and leisure.

To be eligible for a Victorian Seniors Card, you must be
60 years of age or over
Retired or working less than 35 hours per week in paid employment
A permanent resident of Victoria
You are not eligible if:
You are an interstate or overseas visitor
On long service, recreational or sick leave from paid employment

What is a Seniors Card?
The discounts listed in this directory are only available to Seniors Card holders, and do not
apply to family members, friends, neighbours or colleagues, or to members of any other
seniors organisation or association.
Businesses are not obliged to honour discounts after the transaction has occurred.

How to make the most of your Seniors Card
You can make the most of your Seniors Card by keeping this and any other
Seniors Card directories handy and referring to them when making a purchase.
Also look for the ‘Seniors Card Welcome Here’ sign which is proudly displayed by
participating businesses.
Unless otherwise stated, always ask for the normal quoted price before asking
for the Seniors Card discount or presenting your card.
Always confirm your Seniors Card discount with the business before making your
purchase or booking as businesses are not obliged to give a Seniors Card
Discount once a transaction has been completed.
When making a booking or appointment, quote your Seniors Card number at
that time. Shop around and compare prices before making purchase- the Seniors
Card does not always guarantee the best price.
Take your card with you when you travel. All States and Territories have a Seniors
Card program and most participating businesses accept cards from interstate.
It is also worth taking your card with you when travelling overseas, as it is often
accepted by businesses internationally as a matter of good will. All you need to do
is ask, particularly in Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, Canada and the UK.
It is recommended that you keep all invoices, receipts, quotes, cheque stubs,
credit card receipts, guarantees, warranties and any other proof of purchase in a
safe place.

Victorian Seniors Card holders are entitled to public transport concessions every day, all
year.
Metropolitan Concessions:
Throughout the year, Seniors Card holders are entitled to the Seniors Daily fare
and concession fares for use on metropolitan trains, trams and buses.

Free travel on Sundays:
On Sundays, Seniors Card holders can travel free on:
metropolitan trains, trams and buses in Zones 1 and 2
the town bus networks of major regional cities such as Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong,
Mildura and Warrnambool
Seniors Card holders can apply through Metlink, Metropolitan Premium Stations, the Met
shop or staffed V/Line stations for access to free travel on Sundays. For more information,

Concession fares on V/Line and coach services:
Seniors Card holders are eligible for concession fares on V/Line train and coach
services at all times. Please note that Off-Peak Concession fares are not available on
weekends.
All Seniors Card holders receive two off-peak free travel vouchers that can be exchanged
for two single tickets or one day return ticket on V/Line train and coach services within
Victoria.

Public Transport Concessions

Support for people with a disability using public transport:
All metropolitan trains are wheelchair accessible and low-floor trams
and buses are available on some routes. For more information on accessible
transport contact Metlink on 131 638 or visit
www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au/accessibletransport.
Travellers Aid Centres are available at Flinders St and Southern Cross stations
and they provide a number of services and facilities . For more information
visit www.travellersaid.org.au.
For assistance at Flinders Street call 9610 2030, and at Southern Cross call
9670 2072.
Most V/Line trains and coaches can be accessed by wheelchair. Call 136 196 at
least 24 hours in advance of travel to confirm your space.
Telephone 1800 012 061 to book a wheelchair-accessible bus, which runs
between St Kilda, Port Melbourne, Flinders St Station and Southern Cross
Station.
Multi Purpose Taxi Program:
Public Transport Concessions
Victorians with disabilities who cannot access public transport independently
may be eligible to join the Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP) – a Victorian
Government program which offers its members a 50 per cent subsidy on taxi
fares of up to $60 per trip. MPTP members can also get special vouchers to
receive discounted taxi fares when they travel elsewhere in Australia.

There are no fees for participating businesses. Businesses join by agreeing to
