Cyber Academy:Developing the Cyber WorkforceThe Cyber Academy provides training courses, learningopportunities, and career and certification pathwaysto increase the level of knowledge in cybersecurityand cyber warfare. The Cyber Academy helps ensureNorthrop Grumman has the most qualified talentavailable to take on the full spectrum of cyberchallenges for our customers.CurriculumOverview offerings provide leaders, decision makers,and technologists a high-level view of the technicalcurriculum, while additional Cyber Academy coursesprovide awareness and specialized training for bothtechnical and non-technical audiences:• 001/002: Overview Courses (2 or 4 hrs) – Theseoverview courses review cybersecurity and itsimpact on your organization, to include a summaryof methodologies, tools, and techniques used bytoday’s computer attackers.• Cyber 101: Fundamentals and Hands-on Lab (4 days)–In-depth discussion, demonstration, and hands-ontraining in a virtual lab environment, with studentsgaining an understanding of attack methodologiesand preparing the defense of their own machine toexpose and reduce vulnerabilities.• Cyber 102: Network Security Essentials (1 day) –Provides an overview of networking, the OpenSystem Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model,and the necessary security measures used toprotect a network against attacks.• Cyber 210: Cybersecurity for Business Developers/Program Managers (4 hour class): Cybersecurityfundamentals and guidance on integrating intobusiness development and programs. The courseuses pictorial perspectives that will facilitate communicationsthroughout the program lifecycle.• Cyber 301: Software Security Engineering (1 day) –Teaches how and where to build security in to theSoftware Development Lifecycle including techniquesfor threat modeling, architecture & design,and methodologies for secure coding/testing.• Cyber 401: Penetration Testing (4 days) – In-depthdiscussion and hands-on training in a virtual labenvironment, with students learning the steps toperforming a Penetration Test including planning,stealth reconnaissance, vulnerability assessment,gaining access to the target, post-exploitationtechnologies, and reporting findings.• Cyber 402: Cyber Architecture Analysis& Application (2 days) – Provides anunderstanding of cyber architecture,the role of cyber architects, andintroduces various cyber artifacts,Specialty Trainingcapabilities, and frameworksenabling students to developrepeatable cyber architecturesolutions.Advanced Specialty TrainingSkill development focused ondelivery of secure capabilities/solutionsSecure Architecture Design & EngineeringCertifications based on business/skills needsin partnership with AcademiaCyber Certification ProgramEmployee Awareness Education and TrainingCyber Academy PartnershipsNorthrop Grumman continually develops relationshipswith thought leaders and suppliers in cybersecurity,and partnering opportunities withinacademia, industry, and the client community, toenhance Cyber Academy offerings and learningopportunities. Partnerships focus on cyber/InformationAssurance (IA) certifications and trainingin specialized areas of cybersecurity includingnext generation technologies and tools.Cyber Certification ProgramThe Cyber Academy assists employees in theirpursuit of certification(s), including certificationsin alignment with the DoD 8570.01-M Directive.Employees may follow defined pathways to certification,take advantage of training opportunities, andparticipate in exam preparation cohorts for specificcertifications available through university and vendorpartnerships.
